Chap 14

Sam POV

I turned around full of hope, thinking that the person came back. When I meet face to face with the person, my face turns from happy to confused to sad.

"Why do you seem so unhappy?" Ben asked. He was wearing this a white hoodie with black ripped jeans.

"I'm not sad. I'm just surprised. What are you doing here?" I asked. I was hoping to see Jackson but was met instead with Ben's contagious smile. "You still haven't answered my question yet. I asked first. What are you doing here?" Ben had a cute pouty face.

"Just studying... " I paused "I was waiting for someone but that person couldn't make it so I'm thinking of a way to be able to finish my homework today." That was another big problem. How the hell am I supposed to finish this impossible homework when I don't even understand the topic!

"I mean I could help. I know I'm a grade younger than you but I still understand most of what you're learning." Ben said, picking up my text book and flipping through it.

"Sure. We could give it a try." I said with my mood slightly uplifted. Turns out I don't need Justin to succeed in school.

After 3 hours of hard studying, I understood one thing. Ben isn't just smart, he's smart smart. He knew how to explain everything so it made so much more sense. I kept wondering why he didn't just skip a grade because he would probably be the best student in the class. Or maybe just second best. I don't think there's anyone in our grade that could be smarter than Justin.

The 3 hours of homework and laughter helped me forget Jackson but as soon as it ended I remembered again, feeling sad.

"So, was I a good teacher?" I heard Ben, interrupting my train of thought. "Hello? Sam? Did you hear what I said?"

"You are an amazing teacher. How are you so smart?" I said.

Ben looked up proudly and said "I don't know. I can't help being a genius." i playfully slaps Ben on the arm. "Do you want me to continue helping you tomorrow." Ben asked.

I thought about it for a moment. For some reason, I felt guilty laughing and studying with Ben. Why would you feel guilty? He clearly left you all alone and you need help with your homework. Of course you can say yes. I came to my decision and nodded confidently.

"That would be great. Same place, same time tomorrow?" I said.

"Totally!" Ben said. "Let me walk you back to your dorm room."

By the time I got back to my dorm, it was already late at night. Just when I was about to get ready for bed, I received a text from Jackson.

Really sorry about today. Something came up all of a sudden. You're not mad at me right? - Justin

Seeing that he apologised, I forgave him. Things come up and I understand that. I'm not a terrible and unreasonable person.

It's ok ;) I was a little freaked out at first because I didn't know how I'm supposed to finish my homework but Ben came and helped me so I'm fine now. It's late so I'm going to bed. Goodnight. - Sam

Jackson POV

After arriving at Shanghai, I turned on his phone to see if Sam texted anything back. She didn't text anything so I sent another text to make sure that she wasn't mad at me. The good news was that she wasn't mad. The bad news was that she was talking about a guy named Ben.

Who's Ben? Was he that kid that sat at the lunch table today?. I saw that kid looking at Sam multiple times when they were having a conversation. He probably heard about us meeting at the library and decided to go as well.

"Jackson!" Just when I was deep in thought about Ben, I heard a voice who I was extremely familiar with. Roy came running up to me, giving me a big polar bear hug. Karry came walking shortly after with a big smile on his face as well. We haven't seen each other in a long time because of our busy schedules.

As we talked and laughed, walking towards the hotel, I slowly put the Sam and Ben situation behind, focusing solely on joking and playing around with Karry and Roy.

Blaire: TFboys are finally united!! Disclaimer about Karry and Roy. They won't appear in this story a lot. This story is about Sam and Jackson so if you guys are expecting a lot of TFboys together, that probably won't happen. They will definitely come and go but it won't be the main part of the story.
