Yui Utsugi's POV

The three of us headed back to the meeting room, and I kept my head down throughout as I made my way to the back seat.

I ignored the stares of the music students around me, although I could definitely feel Len Tsukimori's gaze throughout.

This, made me uncomfortable throughout the entire meeting.

...

When it ended, I quickly proceeded to grab my bag, ready to go home.

"Oi... general education student."

A voice called out. I suppose he was referring to me.

I looked up, and made eye contact with the another music student who was participating in the concours.

I didn't know who he was, or what he had to do with me, so I was a little surprised that he called out to me all of a sudden.

"You... are?" I managed to ask.

"Tch, to have you here is such a shame. I wonder why Kanazawa-sensei picked you when there are so many other talents around in the music department."

I clenched my teeth in response and looked down wearily.

Fine, beat me up with your words, twat. I'm too tired to even care or give you a piece of my mind.

Besides, it's not worth it.

"Hey, that's enough."

Yunoki walked beside me and placed a hand in front of me, as if defending me from the person.

"What are you, jealous?"

The other music student made a grunt sound in response at Yunoki's defence of me.

"She was handpicked by sensei because she is good in what she does. Just because Utsugi-chan is not studying music doesn't give you any right to talk to her like that, brat."

Yunoki's voice was dripping with menace, but he still sounded so kind.

What is this...

"Hmph," The music student folded his arms defiantly.

"Whatever! She better not ruin the selections for us!"

At his words, I looked down depressingly.

Ruin... huh.

I ruin so many things... Just like how I ruined my last violin competition with Tsukimori.

Who am I to talk? I was just an ordinary student who wanted to study hard, and escape from my own past.

"You are right." I said, after a deafening silence.

The room, which consisted of a few of us left behind, stared at me in surprise at my words as I looked down and my fringe swept over my eyes

"I don't deserve this opportunity to stand on the same stage as all of you."
