Yui Utsugi's POV

The school bell rang, signifying the end of a school day.

I sighed, and packed my books into my bag.

This was going to be the longest afternoon of my life.

Apparently, Kanazawa-sensei called all of the participants of the concours to attend a meeting so that everyone could get to know one another better.

And I was included, because I was still part of the concours as a performer.

It was so annoying.

I hated gatherings like these because I wasn't really sure how to interact with people after closing off for so many years.

Secretly, I hoped to get it over and done with quickly so that I could go home, and be anti-social again.

I quickly made my way to the music education school's side to find the music room which we were supposed to meet in, but, of course. I had to get lost in their endless maze of rooms.

Tch.

This school is so terrible with its architecture.

I can't believe that I'm lost in the music education side.

I looked around for directions, but to no avail.

Plus, it wasn't helping that people were avoiding me, like a plague, because I was wearing the sickening uniform of the general education department.

I clenched my first in frustration.

What a pain...

"Oh? Utsugi-chan!" A voice called out to me and I glanced up from underneath my fringe.

It was the two seniors - Hihara and Yunoki - that I met a few days ago.

"Hihara-senpai... and Yunoki-senpai..."

They were across the corridor where I was at.

"Are you lost?" Yunoki asked from across the corridor.

Immediately all the girls started flocking to where I was at to get his attention.

"I'm lost, Yunoki-sama!"

"Guide us the way to your heart!"

I groaned internally.

What even are these stupid girls saying...

Ignoring the girls, Hihara and Yunoki both walked towards me. They smiled the moment they were in front of me.

"Utsugi-chan, are you on your way to the meeting?" Hihara asked.

"Y-yeah, but I'm lost." I said rather nonchalantly, but inside I was stirring with angst.

I hated the way the girls glared at me for absolutely no reason.

I mean, can't blame Yunoki or Hihara for being overly nice to me, right?

"Come, let's go together."

Yunoki smiled gently at me and placed his arm around my shoulder.

Girls started squealing again. Or screaming, rather. I felt even more hateful glares from all around.

Sensing my frustration, Yunoki crept close and whispered into my ear.

"Ignore them. Let's go."

I swallowed hard, and nodded my head in response.

The three of us walked down the corridor to head to our destination.
