Yui Utsugi's POV
The next day, I returned to class, thinking everything was normal.
When I first got to school, I acted like the normal Yui Utsugi that everyone knew me by.
However, the reactions of my classmates... and the people in school, towards me, were somewhat different.
It was lunch break, and I was walking to the canteen.
Unlike normal days where my existence was ignored, today, I had many general education students giving me weird stares.
Tch... I hated the attention.
This was why I knew since the start that joining the concours and performing for them would be a bad idea. It brought unnecessary attention.
Because... I only wanted to sing.
Even if it was just for a little bit...
Inside, I knew I wanted to be in touch with music.
I joined the queue to buy bread for lunch.
Anyhow, I couldn't help but listen to the gossips around me by the other students.
I kept my head low, and my fringe hung above my eyes.
"That's the general education student who sang at the first selections."
"I heard she sang well."
"Amazing, isn't it... I can't believe she didn't study music!"
"Yeah but, what is she doing studying general education?"
"Maybe she's looking down on us?"
"Pfft, I'm guessing her performance was probably done as a voice over, that's why it was so good."
What the...
Upon hearing that comment, a blood vessel throbbed in my head.
That wasn't very nice...
"Hey, enough already."
A voice spoke, and the voices around me suddenly came to a stop.
I looked up immediately. It was Hihara and Yunoki, together, as they always have been.
"Hihara-senpai... and Yunoki-senpai?"
Somehow, I couldn't help but feel as if they were angels sent to me.
Because at the most unexpected moments in school, they always appeared and helped me out.
Many girls squealed, staring in awe as the two good-looking senpais approached me.
"You guys shouldn't be saying things that aren't true about Utsugi-chan, okay?"
Hihara chided the crowd.
A crowd of girls started to form around, because the two of them stood out so much.
It was after all, the general education department's lunch break, and their white uniforms were hard not to notice.
Hihara continued speaking up for me.
"Utsugi-chan was amazing during the first selections."
Eh...
I felt a rush of blood flow to my cheeks as I stared at Hihara with new found admiration.
