Yui Utsugi's POV

It was another day at school... with the new normal, where people avoided all forms of interaction with me.

I mean, I couldn't be bothered anyway.

After school, I automatically proceeded to the music rooms to practice my singing for the second selections.

I still wasn't sure what song they wanted me to sing yet, but I needed to practice my vocal chords.

So, I just sang whatever pieces that I knew.

And I practiced.

And practiced.

And practiced.

Before I knew it, the sun began to set, and nightfall was arriving.

I glanced at my watch.

It was 6pm.

'I should get going. The school would close by 7pm.' I reminded myself.

I quickly packed up my bags and closed up the music room which I was practicing in.

When I walked out of the music room, I noticed that the school was empty.

There was not a single soul in sight.

Which was when... I had a random, yet crazy idea.

I proceeded to walk up a few floors up and went towards a room, where the orchestra club kept their musical instruments at.

I opened the door quietly, to check if there was anyone.

Not a soul in sight.

Great...

I quickly walked in, closed the door, and picked up a bag which contained a violin.

And, I opened the bag.

I examined the violin that I held secretly in my hands.

So, this was the instrument that closed my doors, and kept me in my shell.

Then again...

It might have closed my doors, but it managed to open a window of opportunities.

That's right... without the violin, I wouldn't have discovered my passion for music.

This was the instrument, that my changed my life.

I picked up the violin and went into a playing position.

It was nostalgic.

It reminded me of the times, I used to play the violin so passionately.

It reminded me of the times, I spent with Len Tsukimori, when we practiced together.

I decided to play a piece which had meaning to me.

This was a piece that I practiced hard for, but I eventually didn't get to play in the end for that fateful concours in Junior High.

So, I still could remember some parts of it.

This was a piece which I wanted Tsukimori to hear.

This was a piece that signified how much I wanted to win that competition.

This was a piece that held my deep passion for the violin.

This was a piece that changed my life completely.
