"No, it's alright. You guys enjoy the rest of your meal." Calum assures everyone as they suggest coming with us for moral support.
"I'll just grab an uber home, yeah?" Marissa says, kissing Calum goodbye.
"Okay, stay safe." He grabs my hand as we walk out the door. Flashing lights make me wince and cover my face with my hands.
"Are you fucking kidding me." Calum grumbles, walking in front of me to block the paparazzi's view of me. I place my hair over my face and wipe my tears away as more fall down.
Calum leads me to the car and opens the door for me. I get in, keeping my face covered as the door closes.
"Hey, sweetie, what's your name?" A guy shouts at the window.
All I want to do is go home and cry in my room. I grab a pillow that's randomly in the backseat and place it in my lap, leaning forward and letting out a sob into it.
"Dude, do you mind?" Calum asks sarcastically, placing a hand on the guys chest to get him to back up.
"What happened in there?" He asks intrusively.
"Look man, it's been a long night. All I ask is that you back up so we can leave." He sighs. I can just barely hear the conversation through the door.
The man says something that I can't quite hear and backs up. Calum thanks him and walks to the drivers side, hopping in.
"Are we going home?" I ask, turning my face from the pillow.
"No, bug. We gotta go to the police station and give a statement." He reaches over and places a hand on my wrist. He rubs it comfortingly before starting up the car and driving off.
At the police station, I nervously follow Calum out of the car and into the lobby. I stay close to his side as he walks up to the front desk.
"How can I help you?" A beautiful, polite, colored woman asks.
"Hi, we're here to give statements. Officer Isun told us to meet him here." Calum explains. She nods and types into the computer.
"Alrighty, just have a seat and I'll inform you when he's ready." Calum thanks her and we turn around. As we walk to the seats, he rests his hand on my back protectively.
I sigh with exhaustion as I sit next to him on a bench. I run my hands over my tear stained cheeks and lean into Calum as he wraps his arm around me.
He rubs my arm in a slow, steady motion. After a few minutes, I drift into a light sleep on his shoulder.
"Calum Hood and Emily Warrel." A voice calls. My eyes open slightly as Calum shifts. I inhale sharply and tiredly stand up, following Calum towards Officer Isun.
"We just have a few questions for you." He says as we enter a room with a couch and coffee table.
"So, I'm told you have a history with Mr. Airen, correct?" He asks me. I nod lightly, assuming that's James' last name. Now that I think about it, I never did know his last name.

"We're from the same orphanage. He... He would, umm." I gulp, my mouth suddenly dry as I think about the things he would do to me.
He holds my hands down above my head.
"Do you have any water?" I ask, hands shaking. He nods and gets up, walking over to the mini fridge. He pulls out a water bottle and hands it to me. I open it and down half the bottle.
"I know it must be hard to relive, but the more I know, the easier it is to put him away." Isun says. I nod and look at my hands, fiddling with them.
"Did he ever do anything to you in the orphanage?" He asks. I nod again.
"Multiple times." My eyes water again and I sigh, placing my hands over my face, sick of crying. Calum rubs my back encouragingly. "He would use me whenever he felt like it." I sob, Calum's jaw tightening at my comment.
He puts his hand over my mouth to keep me from being too loud.
"I need you to be more specific. Did he rape you, touch you inappropriately, or both?"
"B-Both." My voice shakes.
"How many times?"
That's a number that I'll never forget.
It's burned into my brain.
"E-Eleven." I breathe. "We were there together for three years." I finally break down to the point that I can't get any words out.
"I'll give you a minute while I ask Mr. Hood a few questions." He informs. I nod and lean back on the couch, bringing my knees to my chest.
"So, we already know about what happened at BJ's. Has she ever opened up to you about previous events?" He asks.
"No. I only actually started fostering her 3 weeks ago. I never even knew about him."
He asks a few more questions before coming back to me. I answer those questions and we're on our way.
At home, I change into some pajamas and brush my teeth. I didn't think I had anymore tears in my system, but sure enough, I ended up on my bedroom floor, a sobbing mess.
"Emily?" Calum's soft voice calls through the hallway. The door opens Calum sees me in a ball on the floor, immediately rushing over.
"Shh." He coos, scooping me into his arms, allowing me to cry into his chest. "It's okay." He murmurs over and over, rubbing my back for the millionth time tonight. Though, I'm grateful. It really does calm me down.
"Do you want me to leave?" He asks once I've calmed down for the most part. I shake my head rapidly.
"No. I-I don't want to be alone." I stutter out quickly, holding onto him tighter. "Please don't leave."
"It's okay, I won't leave." He assures. "Why don't we watch a movie?" He asks. I pull away slowly and nod.
"I think I'd like that." I mumble. Calum smiles softly at me before kissing my forehead and standing up, pulling me along with him.
"You go and pick the movie, and I'll grab blankets and food." He says. I nod and head downstairs, grabbing the remote.
