Nerf War!

(A/N so I know I said Shuri would be in this episode BUT I have an idea so T'Challa is coming too because why not? Two special guests. Anyway, enjoy!)

Oh my gosh so today was like the best day ever! I met. The Princess. Of. Wakanda. And she's amazing. Like super amazing. We convinced the Avengers to have a Nerf War.

I should start from the beginning, shouldn't I?

Sooooo. The beginning. I don't know when that is. Let's start with when I knew Shuri was coming.

We were in an Avengers meeting- well, except Mr. Thor, who is visiting Asgard for a couple weeks. I think Loki destroyed part of the palace but I'm not sure. But anyway, Mr. Stark was saying stuff about updating suits and then one agent (Mr. Coulson, I think) said that Wakanda was offering some of their greatest scientists to help. "In fact," Mr. Coulson said, "he told me to tell you that T'Challa wants to visit at some point."

"Oh yeah," Mr. Stark said, "he called me last night. He and Shuri are coming this weekend."

I was, of course, shocked, but everyone else seemed unfazed. "Wait, what?"

"Wait, no one told him?" Mr. Captain Rogers asked.

"I didn't think he'd notice," Mr. Stark replied.

"You didn't think I'd notice royalty walking around the Stark Tower?"

"Fair point."

I spent the rest of the week excited. Shuri and I had met once before, during an Avenger's meeting a year ago, and she was really cool. She's a genius inventor with a sense of humor.

So then we skip to when the plane landed. Mr. T'Challa and Shuri exited to the waiting crowd of Avengers, including me. Everyone was talking so I sorta just tagged along, and I didn't think anyone would notice but Shuri saw me and immediately ran over. "Peter!"

"Hey Shuri." I replied. "How are you?"

"I'm good, how are you?"

"Great." Peter responded, smiling.

Mr. Stark cleared his throat. "So, I was thinking we could show you the suits we have and talk about working together on improvements?"

"Sounds great!" Shuri turned to me. "Hang out later?"

"Definitely."

We walked inside and Mr. T'Challa, Shuri, Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner headed off to the lab while the rest of us headed to the living room. I was incredibly bored.

"Do you guys want to have a nerf war?" I asked after a while.

Captain Rogers said "No" at the same time Ms. Natasha said "Yes."

"We have guests." Captain Rogers protested.

"I love Nerf Wars." Shuri stated, coming into the room.

"It's settled, then." Ms. Natasha exclaimed. "Who is team captain?"

"Peter and me!" Shuri decided.

I smiled. "You're going down."

"You wish."

It was a pretty even playing field. I had Mr. Clint, Captain Rogers, and Mr. Barnes. Shuri had Ms. Natasha, Wanda, and Mr. Wilson.

Being honest, I was a little scared. I mean, Ms. Natasha seemed out for blood, and she's a trained assassin. But I refused to back down. Besides, I had Mr. Clint, who was getting revenge on Mr. Wilson for eating the last poptart. I was confident my team would win.

We set up base in one of the labs. Each of us had two Nerf guns that shot normal bullets with three packs of extras, and we had one that shot those green balls, except they exploded into green powder on impact. The rule was if a green ball explodes on you, you're out and you have to fake a dramatic death. Each team only has one gun, but endless ammo. Oh and Wanda wasn't allowed to shield, if she did it was automatic death.

As I explained this to my team, Captain Rogers looked confused. "Why do we have to die dramatically?"

"Because it's fun."

We set up a plan. Mr. Clint would go through the vents with the green gun while the rest of us led a frontal assault to the living room. I was nervous, because if they gave the green gun to Ms. Natasha we would all be dead in seconds. I had no choice but to continue onward, though, so continue I did.

When we got to the living room, we thought it was empty.

Then chaos began.

Ms. Natasha fell from the ceiling, Wanda popped up from behind the couch, and Mr. Wilson burst out of a closet. None of them had the green gun, but it didn't matter- we were locked in the gunfire.

My team fought hard, waiting for Mr. Clint to make it with his green gun. Before I knew it, I was out of ammo. I dived behind a couch. "Captain Rogers!" I called, and he turned to me- just as a green ball exploded on his chest. He screamed and fell to the ground. Out of the shadows stalked Shuri, just as Mr. Clint popped off the vent cover and shot Mr. Wilson, who stumbled backwards and dropped again at the wall. He peppered the ground with the death balls, but everyone had taken cover.

No one could see me except Mr. Clint, and I motioned for him to drop the gun. I picked it up quietly as people started sniping each other, and I slowly stood up and took aim. With a single shot, I took out Wanda, then I ducked back down. Suddenly, Shuri was behind me. I rolled to one side to avoid the green ball, and then scrambled up the wall, firing blindly behind me.

What I didn't know was I was accidentally taking out my own team members, who were being used as human shields.

With no more enemies, Ms. Natasha came from her hiding place- I still don't know where it was- and began firing the normal Nerf bullets. I crawled across the ceiling as fast as I could, firing below until the Nerf bullets stopped.

I leaped to the ground and turned my gun on Shuri. We were at a standstill. Then I shot her, but she ducked. We started rapid firing each other until we were both covered in powder, along with the floor around us. We were laughing so hard I got some of the powder in my mouth, which didn't taste good, but I didn't care.

Then, Mr. Stark, Dr. Banner, and Mr. T'Challa exited the elevator just as we ran out of green balls and picked up normal Nerf Guns. Dr. Banner took one look and then got back in the elevator and went back to the lab.

When Shuri saw her brother she started firing on him. "Shuri!" He protested.

"Grab a Nerf Gun, because I'm not stopping." Shuri said.

"Um, Shuri?" I said quietly. I wasn't about to shoot a king.

"He's my brother, it's fine. He's also a nerd."

"Says the one who spends all day in her lab."

Shuri gasped. "You take that back!"

   Mr. T'Challa leapt behind a couch and popped up with two Nerf guns, tossing one to Mr. Stark. "Fight me!" He called back.

We spent another hour in a Nerf war.

It was amazing.

Well except how Captain Rogers almost died.

But that's irrelevant.

I mean, he's still alive!
