Our lips barely had time to pull away after his mum's surprise welcome like that, and the bag of muffins slipped out of my hand and onto their front porch.
"Eomma! How did you know we arrived?" Sehun jolted out of his reverie and went forward to hug his beloved mother, murmuring in her ears: "Happy mother's day to the best mother in the world."
I quickly picked up the bag of muffins and internally prayed that the muffins are not in too bad of a shape. The mother and son exchanged a few words before Sehun placed his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to him, immediately making me less nervous than I already was.
"I'd like to introduce my girlfriend to you in person." Sehun gestured at me, and gave me tense body a little squeeze to release some of my tension.
"Hi aunt, it's a pleasure to finally see you in person! Sehun has told me a lot about you." I bowed to her deeply and reached out my hand to shake hers. "Happy mot-" I began subconsciously before quickly swallowing back my statement.
Goddamit Y/N, the phrase "Happy mother's day" isn't used as ambiguously as any other celebrations like "Happy Thanksgiving" or "Happy Easter", when the occasion applies to everyone. Great, now she's going to think that you're too eager....
I inwardly cursed myself for the slip-up but Sehun's mother only smiled gently at me, and ignoring my outstretch hand in favor for a hug. She smelled home-y, and her hug reminds me of Sehun's warm and soothing one. I stayed in her embrace long enough for the red blush on my cheeks to fade away.
"I've been waiting to meet you for so long! Sehun absolutely would not shut up about you every time he visits," her eyes twinkled as she revealed, "it's always Y/N this, Y/N that with this boy."
"Eomma!" Sehun whined childishly at his mother's cute revelations.
His mum ignored Sehun and took a good look at my face, and for a second I thought she was going to comment about how my appearance isn't up to par with her own sons. Honestly, I couldn't fault her for having those thoughts because Sehun's beauty is really UP THERE.
After a few seconds of scrutiny, his mum commented seriously:"You're much prettier in person though, the pictures Sehun had shared with me didn't do much justice to how lovely you are."
I was just about to melt in esctasy right then and there, but luckily Sehun quickly shuffled the both of us into the house, where I also met his dad. After seeing both his parents, I could immediately see where Sehun inherited his good genes from.
We had a pleasant chat about the everyday things in life, but things eventually took a deeper turn 30 minutes in.
Both of his parents are very interested in our love life, asking many personal questions directed towards the two of us. If I wasn't the subject of their interest, I would've found the both of them so endearing and funny.
"Have you guys moved in with each other yet?" Sehun's mother inquired as she served me another scoop of her kimchi jjigae.
"Adeul-ah, you guys have been responsible when having... y'know.., right?" Sehun's dad awkwardly mentioned at and ill-timed moment when Sehun had chicken bone in his mouth and almost choked at the interrogation.
"Y/N-ssi, do you prefer a daughter or a son?"
"Sehun-ah, when am I going to get a grandchild? My friends have been boasting non-stop about theirs and just how amazing they are. Just wait till I show them mine." Sehun's mum huffed indignantly, but you could tell from the crinkle in her eyes that she was only joking.
"Aishhhh, eomma! Appa! Don't do this to us." Sehun whined adorably, getting red in the face, but not as red as the shade of mine. We did however, answer their questions one by one eventually, trying not to lose his composure.
