Chapter Fifteen:

Metal Parts

-...-

When Tyler woke up, he was incredibly sore all over his body. His left arm was the worst. His eyes opened, and he used his right hand to rub the eye buggers away. He groaned, sitting up, to see he was in a hospital bed. The room was light, and one of the windows to the side was opened. There was a heart monitor, beeping softly to let him know that yes in deed he was alive.

There was a slight breeze, and Tyler looked around to see that next to him was a side table, were his glasses were. They looked like they had been fixed. Tyler then took a deep breath and looked down at his arms and himself. He had one one of those patient dress things that were a light blue color. The metal was all gone, and he had scars and patches of damaged skin all over. He sighed, covering his face with his hands, only to feel a metallic, cold texture from his left hand.

Tyler looked at his left hand, putting his arms back down. What he saw was not his hand, but a robotic hand. That's why his left arm was so sore. But why? He suddenly felt uncomfortable, and even wireded out when he realized he could control the fingers and wrist.

“Good morning.”

Tyler looked up to see a nurse had walked in. He had a clip bored in his hands, and stood at the end of the hospital bed. Tyler tried to say something, but his throat hurt.

“You seem to be doing better then when you got here.” The nurse said. “You've been out for a few days, so i'm glad to see you've finally woken up.”

“D-Days?” Tyler was able to get out.

“Do you remember anything?”

Tyler paused, but then shook his head.

The nurse put down his clip board and sighed. “You came in a few days ago, about 1 or 2 AM if I remember correctly. You had metal plastered all over your body, as well as cuts and bruises. We were able to surgically remove all the metal, as well as clean up some of the damage to your skin. Your hand, however, had lost the ability to function at all. It was almost torn off due to the metal we found lodged inside. With permission, we replaced it. It's not the newest in technology, but you should be able to use it pretty quickly.”

“O-oh.” Tyler looked back down at his robotic arm. I guess Hwnt did get part of Tyler turned into an animatronic permanently in the end. By the way, what happened anyway? His memory was a mess.

“Anyway, now that you're awake, we can contact your family. We aren't sure when we can let you leave the hospital, since it all depends on your recovery.”

The nurse sighed and picked back up their clip board to go read something.

“Well, um, we do have some medicines for you to take later, and the, er, police department wants to ask you a few questions over your disappearance and all. Oh, but they aren’t here at the moment. We do, however, have a quest whose been sitting here for quite some time. I guess after approval I'll let him in.” The nurse sighed. “Is there anything you need?”
