The Abalone

Prologue

My name is Amelia. I was born being a Sentinel since my parents are both part of it. We are living a simple life here in Garzena province which is a 4-hour drive away from the Capital City of Abalone, Rimini.

There are 16 provinces in Abalone. Each persona has 4 provinces and that is where those with similar personas live and gather. While in the Capital City, all of the personas are free to work, explore, meet, have fun, and learn. All of the important gatherings for the country happen in Rimini.

Here in Garzena, all of the people are Sentinel. We are living a simple but good life because my mother is a consul, which is extraordinarily caring, social and popular, and always eager to help. She is a former celebrity. While my father is a logistician, which is practical and fact-minded.

Abalone is a small country led by James Channing, the kingpin of the Abalone government. The Channing family were part of the Diplomats, and is indeed a charismatic leader.

"Amelia, are you ready for the persona test next week? It will take 2 hours for the whole test." My mother, Amy, told me.

"Yes mom, I just need to answer it from my heart, right?" I smiled at her reflection in the mirror while she brushed my hair.

"Of course, my baby. I believe you are going to be a full-fledged Sentinel. You deserved it baby." She continued brushing my hair and I just smiled thinking of what will happen after the test.

The next day, there's no 'building confidence session' at school. That is why I immediately went to the garden at the back of our building to wait for Ender Cason, my boyfriend. While waiting, I heard some girls chatting behind me.

"Yes, I also heard that Ender kissed back! I can't believe she was with Ender."

"She's so lucky! He's very handsome and hot. I wish I was her."

I smiled when I heard what they were talking about. Ender is really a popular Sentinel. There are so many girls fantasizing him and I feel so lucky that I am the one he pursued. Even if our relationship is secret, I still feel lucky.

After a few minutes, I saw him walking towards me. He stopped 5 meters away. He smiled at me and gestured the way towards our secret meeting place.

I immediately stood up and walked really fast to catch up to him but he's so fast and he was already gone from my sight.

I sighed and continued walking until I got to our bunker. It was used 70 years ago when there are still military and part of the Warriors persona. It was excluded when they felt that the warriors were using their strength and bravery to frighten people. I suddenly feel sad remembering those people who were once part of the Warriors.

I opened the door and walked downstairs. I saw the beautiful bunker renovated by just the two of us. I felt proud.

"Hey." He approached me and kissed my lips while holding my waist.

"You missed me?" I grinned and kissed him back.

"Why wouldn't I?" His kisses became deeper and hot. I touched his chest going to his neck and head to deepen our kisses.

His hands were playing on my waist and nearly undressing me.

"Ops, not so fast Ender." The side of my lips rose as I saw disappointment on his face.

"Amelia! You're so mean. I'm so turned on and you stopped me!" He made a pout while staring at me.

I hold his hand and pull him beside me on the couch. "How's your day Ender?" I placed my head on his shoulders while playing with our hands.
