A/n: Hey everyone! I'm starting to get more time to update, so yay! This book is one of my top priorities, so it'll be one of my quickest to update. I'm really surprised how many views the sequel has gotten so far, thanks so much!
This chapter starts as a third-person POV.
Happy reading, everyone! <3
~~~~~~
Nya watched her brother fall in shock. How could someone as strong as Kai be dead? Kai wasn't someone that could go down easily- let alone quit. Yet he managed to die within a click of a button- something that pained his younger sister.
"Kai... No..."
Nya sat helplessly on the ground, surrounded by her own tears. She tried shaking him, in hopes that he would wake up. In hopes that SHE would wake up from the vivid nightmare that she thought she had. Eventually, reality spoke. Kai was dead.
"Nya, get up."
Nya's head whipped around. No, this couldn't be. Kai was dead, yet he was standing before her.
"Kai?" She whispers, "How?"
"No time, Nya. Take my hand, now!"
Nya obeys and grabs Kai's hand. "Kai, how are you alive?" Kai sighs and looks her in the eye. "Nya, I'm not alive. I died when Chen shot me. You have to accept this, Nya. I'm dead, but you're alive. Tha's what counts."
"N-no, Kai, please!"
"I'm sorry, Nya. I love you."
~~~~~~
"Guys, where do you think Nya is? We've been searching for hours!" Jay whines.
"Jay, if you weren't a ghost, I would've slapped you on the back real hard."
Morro's balance didn't get any better. In fact, it seemed to be getting worse and worse every moment. "Ugh, when am I finally gonna get my coordination back?!"
"Hopefully, never. You look hilarious this way," Jay says, earning a chuckle from Cole. "You'll regret that, Jay!" Morro seethed. "Nah, I don't think I will."
"Wait, I have an idea! But you guys will have to let go of me," Morro says. "You sure, Morro? You might faceplant-!" Morro shoves Cole and wobbles. "I'll be fine, I think I know where to find Nya. But you guys keep searching," Morro says before spawning his elemental dragon.
"Well, that was abrupt. I wonder where he's going."
Wu kept his head down the whole way, which worried Lloyd. "Uncle, are you okay?"
Wu nods and motions for them to continue walking. "I'm fine, let's just focus on finding Nya."
~~~~~~
Morro's POV:
I felt a ton of guilt. I had lied to my friends and Sensei. I wasn't trying to find Nya, I wasn't even keeping an eye out for her- I was on the look for my friends who were trapped in the Cursed Realm.
I didn't mention that I knew a way to open a breach. Why didn't I? Simple. There was no time to lose. The longer one spends in the Cursed Realm, the higher the possibility of contracting an unwanted disease- one that causes you to hallucinate for days, once you escape the realm. This disease is fatal because it gives you vivid nightmares. I would know- I contracted it.
My balance got worse and worse every minute that passed by. I struggled to see straight and my body went limp at times. What is happening to me?
I used my elemental dragon to teleport into the Cursed Realm. It is well known that dragons are the only creatures that can travel through realms. The only problem is that you must be a survivor of escaping the realm to enter and exit.
I felt a searing pain in my chest when I realized I couldn't enter the realm unless I became a ghost again. I had to die again.
It took me a few moments to decide, but I finally made my decision. I was willing to give up all of my chances of mortal life. I tightly grip the reins of my dragon, take a deep breath, and create a portal into the Cursed Realm.
~~~~~~
I felt dizziness beyond what I've ever felt before. When I opened my eyes, all I saw was darkness. I took a quick look down at my hand, and it was transparent once again. I sighed, knowing that I was cursed once again. I struggled to balance with my cursed body and wobbled even when floating.
That's when I heard a scream. Zane, the titanium ninja's scream. One of the most pained screams I've ever heard during my entire existence.
Then I heard Kai's scream. I was starting to panic- I couldn't find them. All I saw was empty space before me, an endless void.
That's when I saw the Soul Archer, Wrayth, and Bansha. Jay wasn't bluffing- they were seemingly alive and well. "Who are they, ninja?!"
"I don't know, but whatever it was really hurt Kai!" Zane exclaims. "It's really hurting me as well... My database doesn't have any information on who or what that was."
That's when Bansha turned around and spotted me. I panicked, not wanting to embarrass myself with my lack of balance. "Morro?" she says, floating towards me. "Uh, hi...," I say awkwardly.
"Morro! How are you here?!" Wrayth exclaims, engulfing me in a hug. I instantly faceplant, and I don't bother trying to get up.
"What's wrong with Zane and Kai?" I ask. They shake their heads in unison. "We don't know, but whatever it is left a purple scar on them- which should be impossible." I use all my strength left to stand up and float towards my teammates. "Zane?"
He gasps. "Morro! Is Jay okay? Have you seen him?!"
I nod. "He's fine, but you two are not. What happened to Kai?" He shakes his head and sighs. "I don't know, Morro. But from the looks of it, it seems like he's well... dead. But how is that possible, we are in the Departed Realm-!"
"That's where you're wrong. You two belong in the Departed Realm, but you were placed in the Cursed Realm. This realm is meant for evil souls- what's happening here is a phantom is corrupting Kai, and you as well. Luckily, I know a way to escape."
He raises his 'eyebrow'. "Really? How?"
"No time to explain, follow me."
"What about us?!" Wrayth hisses from behind me, crossing his arms. "Have you forgotten about our existence?!"
"You guys don't even exist! You're artificial creations from the Allied Armor!" I blurt accidentally, instantly realizing my mistake. "W-wait, w-what...," Bansha whispers. "We a-are?"
I nod slowly and sigh. "I'm sorry guys, but I only came here for the ninja."
Zane gives me a confused glance, probably wondering why I would leave my 'friends' behind. "Let's go, Zane." Zane takes a quick look back, then follows my lead. I felt guilt beyond anything I've ever felt. The looks on my 'friends' faces when I left them behind. My dragon creates a magnificent portal, and it closes moments later.
~~~~~~
"Kai? Kai?!" Zane pleads, shaking his shoulders. "Kai, please wake up!"
My eyes slowly flutter open. Zane was violently shaking Kai's shoulders, begging him to wake up. "Zane," I whisper, "He's trapped in the Dream Realm."
A/n: I'm sorry it took me forever to update! I may not update this book anytime soon, but I hope u enjoyed the chapter! See y'all soon! :>
