            "ASSEMBLY TIME WILL ALL STUDENTS REPORT TO THE JANASIAM, " the speaker 

announced. Everyone went out of their classrooms and into the gym, I went with Eli. We walked 

into the gym and students were confused as well.

"Wonder what this is about," said one student,

"Hopefully something interesting," said another student as they walked by. I saw my sister with 

her friends and Noah. Definitely don't wanna see Noah right now. Then I saw Alder and Dustin,

 and they looked over to Noah. seems like they are on complicated terms after what happened 

last night. I'm just gonna sit where there is no Awkwardness with Eli.

"Wonder what this is about," Eli said as we sat down. We saw Principal Byres and a couple of 

teachers standing in the middle of the gym and Byres walked up to the podium.

"Good Morning students, you're probably wondering why we are having an assembly on such a 

short notice, the events that happened yesterday was unacceptable. We do not tolerate bullying

 in this school and if there is a student in need you just don't stand there and watch for 

entertainment. You are better than this, you can be better than this. We need to come together 

as a community," Byres said. He is right, we can't just let this happen and yesterday was

definitely out of hand. But the real question is why did Conner do what he did?

"Now someone would like to apologize, " When Byres said that the gym doors opened and 

Conner walked in 

with two new guards and what seemed to be his parents. Mine and Eli's mouth dropped.

 Then a bunch of whispers came upon the students.

"Conner is back", said one students

"He beat up Eli good,". said another. The kid who said that was behind us, I looked back and gave

 a snarky look, they stopped instantly. I looked at Eli and he had the most angry face he could

 make.

"WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING," Alder stood up and yelled from the other side of the stands

"Language," said one teacher

"Conner is here to apologize, '' said Byres.

"NOW THAT'S BUll," I said as I stood up.

"Quiet down students," Byres said as soon other students started pitching in. I sat back down 

and looked back at Eli and still had that look on his face, but now his hands were fists. Conner 

walked up to the podium and the guards on each side of him.

"I came here to apologize, to those I've hurt, my actions are my own problems that I have and 

need to work out. My behavior yesterday was unnecessary. I have nothing against anybody 

here," Conner said in his speech.

"Then why me, why choose me as your punching bag," Eli stood up with his fist still balled, and

 his expression changed to hurt.

"I-I don't know, I just saw you and - ," Conner could not even finish.

"You make me sick," Eli said then he took his leave out of the doors, I went to follow him.

"Jasmine," I stopped in my tracks when Conner called my name, but I didn't want to look at him.

 "I'm sorry, I wasn't gonna touch you," Conner said in a meaningful way. I walked all the way to 

him and my body was filled with emotions, so I slapped him across the face, and Conner held his

 hand on his face where I hit him.

"That's the pain that me and Eli feel. I think that is how I'll feel when I look at you now" I said and

 I kept eye contact the whole time. I was really surprised the guards didn't stop me. I then took

 my leave and walked out to go find Eli. 

          I looked through the hallways in search of Eli, I finally saw him through the window on the 

bench outside. I went out and sat next to him. It was silent for a minute, I guess he was thinking 

so I just gave him time. He then came in for a hug and I held him tight. "It's okay, It's gonna be 

okay," I said. We sat there for a while.
