Chapter 17- After

Ashley's POV (Surprise!)

I feel so bad for treating Lucy like crap now. The guilt is finally setting in after years. Rebecca looked absolutely heartbroken as I said I'm done.

"Don't try and make me feel sorry cause it won't work. I don't want to do this but you left me no choice." She snarled and tried to run.

"Ashley get to your pack and tell them what happened. Rebecca won't be returning for a few more days." Susan told me. I nodded my head and started to run back, leaving the car behind. In my head I was thinking about what I was going to say.

Finally I decided. I would try to turn them against her so they won't follow her orders when she gets back. I will take over until Kyla turns 18 and then I will hand her the title. Just another three years.

I ran faster as I became more determined to do this.

Lucy's POV

Rebecca snarled and fought against my pack as she tried to follow Ashley.

"Let me go!" She glared at me and I sunk deeper into Taylor chest. I felt safe in her arms. I felt the soft sparks as I touched her like every other time, but brushed it off. She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me for a minute before letting go. I let go of her sadly as she took a threatening step towards my ex-mate.

"If you ever hurt my mate again," she started forcefully, "then I will hunt you down and kill you." My eyes widened as I heard what she said.

Mate.

But Rebecca was my mate. How didn't I know. I heard Iris crying, in her own way, because of what just happened. I felt anger rush through me. She had been my rock for the past year. Always comforting me and taking away my pain by taking over for me.

I don't care how much people hurt me. But they can not hurt my wolf. I pushed passed My family and punched Rebecca.

"You can make me feel like crap, but you should never hurt my wolf!" I kicked her face and she fell to the floor, spitting out blood.

My energy left almost as fast as it came. "I hate you!" I slumped into the wall and my mate wrapped her arms around me.

" I'm so sorry I wasn't here Luce. I'm so sorry." She repeated her apology over and over.

"Taylor I'm sorry I made you wait so long," I said between my sobs, "but do you think you can wait a little longer. I'm really sorry to ask this but I need time."

"Yeah. You can take all the time you need. As long as your here with me I don't care. I'd rather have you here as my friend than away as my friend."

"Thank you." I cried even more at her words, knowing that she cared deeply for me. "I'm so sorry."

"It's alright. You're okay"She repeated as we were left alone.
