the day on the dock

as ellie ran towards her father boat, she could hear him yelling her name. she felt an immediate flow of happiness travel through her body. 

"HI DAD!" she said as he walked down the ramp onto the dock.

"hi sweetie!" he said with joy on his face. 

when ellie say her dad smile at the sight of her, she knew all would be well. she could feel it. she was happy, he was happy. she felt as if her and her dad could start over. she felt fresh. through her tears of joy, she could see a boy and a girl come off of the ship. 

she immediately felt a cold pang of jealousy. they were on the boat with him instead of me? she thought. 

her dad say the confused look on her face and started explaining.

"we were near the carolina's when they were in the water just floating there. i do not think they have anywhere to go.. they don't talk much. do you think you can get something out of them?"

ellie rolled her eyes and put on her whimpering face. "we can't even have one single hour to ourselves?"

"of course we can, munchkin. lets go to the pier."

ellie felt excited, but in the back of her head, all she could think about was the couple on the ship.

they look my age

are they safe?

she thought in confusion

she also thought to herself, why do i care? i meet strangers on ships all the time..

perhaps it was because they were on HER dad's boat. or perhaps it was because she had a good feeling about them.. she just knew they were different..

i know this was sorta a shit chapter (and it is really short)

and i also know ur probably waiting for the pogue and john b and sarah drama, but i promise, we will be getting there.

the reason it's taking so long it because the development is really important..
