ellie got up to go to work that morning with a weird feeling, she told herself it was just because her father was coming home, but in reality, she felt like something bigger was going to happen.
as she got to the dock, she went up to the stands to mark in her hours. she then saw delilah, her bestie.
"hey ur looking like a real babe damn!!" delilah exclaimed.
"not hotter than you!! i missed u so much!! you know that?!?!" ellie replied with the same tone.
"sorry, i need more money, so more hours.." delilah said.
"i am still offering to give you extra money lila." ellie said, which she immediately regretted because it brought the happiness of the entire conversation down.
delilah, or lila as ellie liked to call her, analized how boring the conversation was getting and took it upon herself to turn that around. "hey.. wait a minute! isn't your dad coming home today?!"
"yup!" ellie smiling just at the thought of it."
"invite him to the house later. i want to meet him. its been a good 2 months."
"i guess. but it isn't even worth it lila, he'll be gone in a few weeks again."
"i need to know you are safe if i ever leave!!"
"i appreciate you saying that, but it just isn't like that. i need someone over 18. nassau should be like america where you should be 21 for most adult stuff."
"enough with this america shit! get over it! you've been living here for long enough. plus ur one to talk, your breaking laws all the time! why don't you just go marry ace! he's 21! JUST GET USED TO FUCKING NASSAU!! IT"S GREAT HERE!"
"oh, shut up, ace and i never agree on anything. we aren't meant to be."
"oh. right. then break up with him!"
"i told you, it is complicated, okay. i say what I mean! just.. ugh! i need to get away from your accent!" ellie said as she stormed off onto the main dock area.
"i don't have an accent! you do! storm off if you want, i know you still love me so i'm coming by later to meet your dad!"
"you practically live with me, you'll be there anyways!" ellie yelled back.
