"I'm sorry." I apologised to Lucas as the old guy named Carter cleaned his wounds in our room.

Carter is the pack's doctor and Lucas' father figure. I haven't gotten the whole story but as far as I know Lucas is an orphan and what's surprising is that his red eyes were real!

"You should have saved yourself, Har-har." Lucas said. I bit my lower lip as Mr. Carter spoke for me.

"Harris is new here. He doesn't know." The doctor said before putting the first aid kit away.

"He knows. I told him." Lucas rolled his eyes. "Right?" He asked me and I hesitated before nodding. "See, he didn't listen, that's why." He crossed his arms on his chest.

"Hey, I am already sorry here." I glared.

"Yes you are, but I'm mad. What can you do?" Lucas asked childishly.

This guy is still a kid and he's even far older than me.

"Be sad, he's mad." Mr. Carter smirked at me, I shook my head at Lucas as he nodded.

"Yeah, be sad." Lucas waited and I guess I need to play.

"Okay." I pouted and Lucas pouted back which made me smile. "I'm really sorry, Lucas but I'll be fine so don't worry."

I tried but if I can be honest, I just wanted to go home.

"I'm not worried, who told you?" Lucas looked at Carter suspiciously. "You traitor." He glared and Carter chuckled.

"I didn't know you're worried." Carter said. "You should go to rest first, I'll bring Harris with me to show the young monsters' bedrooms." Lucas nodded then lay on the bed he's sitting at.

"So you two are leaving." Carter rolled his eyes before he nodded. "I knew it." I shook my head at Lucas as I stood up.

"See you Lucas." I waved before we went out. "He's really weird." Carter smirked.

"Of course he is, he is our little Lucas." I smiled at how lovingly he said that.

"By the way, does everyone here call them young monsters instead of masters?" I finally asked, unable to hold it in. Carter ran his fingers on his hairy chin as he focused his hazel eyes on our path.

"Yes of course, do you still want to ask why?" He looked down at me at his exact 5'11 height and I chuckled before shaking my head.

"There's no need." Yeah, it's true they acted so rude and violent to everyone specially to us...gays. "Are they homophobic?"

"No, not really." He answered and I almost said 'I thought so' when I remembered the special request of Daniel. "They just loved making fun of things they find interesting. Gay or not if you hit the criteria then goodluck." I nodded.

I see. I see.

"Enough with the talk. Please tell me Harris what you can do so that I can give you a job you're good at." Carter said and I let out a bitter laugh when I remembered that I was sent here to be a house boy. "Can you cook?" He asked.

"Yeah a little." I smiled.

"Oh good! But the young monsters are always messing the kitchen so we better not." I nodded when he suddenly sniffed. "Can you smell?" I stiffened.

"Ah what?" I asked and he looked at me smiling.

"That aroma." He said before closing his eyes as we stopped walking. I bit my lower lip nervously, afraid that my secret would be exposed. "Smells good, doesn't it?" He asked me.

What am I gonna do?

"Uh...yeah!" I lied. "It smells nice..." I lowered my voice.

This is so wrong... Carter is a doctor and he seems nice. It won't be bad to have at least one person who knows my secret anyway.
