A Casanova is in Love
Sue's POV
People around me were watching me as I was walking on my way home. They were talking and whispering about me. Some were pointing their fingers and saying 'Isn't that the woman we saw yesterday?' 'I heard that she is Hellen Moore's daughter' 'Really? I never knew that she had a daughter' 'Is she okay?' 'I really feel bad for what happened to her' 'what a pity' 'that was the girl who almost got punished by the Great General'. How could they call General Martin great? He is overusing his power.
I kept my head down and pretended to not hear anything. I was used to being gossiped and backstabbed in school so what I am experiencing right now wouldn't hurt me, not even a little bit. I'm just a bit of embarrassed because it was long time since I was the center of attraction. I guess that being gossiped is my fate. Oh well, I just need to bear the humiliation.
A little girl poked my hand and I stopped walking. It was the girl I saved yesterday and she was holding a yellow daisy with a smile on her face. She really looks cute though. I patted her head and pinched her chubby cheeks. I really wanted to tell her how cute she was but she could not hear me. She gave me the yellow daisy and pulled my hand. I didn't stop her and let he take me on where she was going to bring me. Both of us stopped at a corner and pointed a beautiful lady.
Miss Florence
I made my way to where she was standing. She was holding a basket of daisies in different colors inside it. Her hair was hazel brown and wavy. She had pinkish skin and pink lips. Her body is petite and I think that she is as tall as me. But what makes her more stand out are her crystal blue eyes. She is the exact definition of perfection. She may have freckles and flaws but it only made her look even more perfect.
A smile formed on her lips. She looks like a goddess standing in front of me. She wore a white dress that covered every inch of her body. What could she be doing here in the North alone? She's kind and sweet which makes her different from other High Class.
"Hi Miss Florence!" I happily greeted her.
"Jane, there you are. I was waiting for you while giving flowers to the children." The kids around us were holding daisies with smile on their faces.
"How kind of you Miss Florence. Why were you waiting for me? Did you wait for too long?" She handed me the basket of daisies.
"No, it wasn't long. I was enjoying playing with the children. I didn't notice the time running." She watched the children running and playing.
"Do you like kids?" She moved her head upwards and downwards as a sign of approval.
"I just don't like kids, I love them. Children make me happy even though they are annoying sometimes. Hearing their laughter brings happiness to me, too bad that I don't have a younger sibling. I have always wanted to take care of a younger sibling. Do you have a younger sibling Jane?" She asked me while staring at the playing children.
I remember my younger brother, Sam. He was always a cheerful kid and he was the most annoying brother. We mostly fight over little things because he likes to tease me and make me go mad but I knew that he always cared for me. Remembering my memories with Sam makes my heart ache. He should be the one that's alive and not me. He took the gunshot for me. I miss him.
"No, but I have a missing older brother." I said and looked away. I feel bad for lying to a sweet girl like her.
"How does it feel to have an older brother?" She took a daisy from the basket that I was holding.
