Staring into the sea of black, the rustles and flashes of their flashlights break into the dark, breaking the tense silence. I see him, a lone figure sitting at the edge. "Give me one more chance, pine tree, please let me explain!" I say desperately, hoping he'll listen, "No!" he screamed how could you?" Staring at him and how close he was to the edge. Hearing his family behind me as they breached the tree line, they gasped. Seeing the situation, wanting to hurt them for what they did, and how these stupid humans hurt their own family. How could they not see how fragile this boy really was? It hurt me to see how the small flame in his eyes was finally snuffed.

Looking back to my Pinetree "please...you can't leave me, not before I can explain..." I say, wishing my words would break through to him, wishing more than anything I could hug him and never let him be hurt. I'd honestly go so far for him; I want to lock him away forever. "Dipper!! Please come back!" The idiot girl starts shrieking, her voice warbles, and she chokes back her tears.

I want to scream and make these humans shut up permanently. Yet I can't, I don't want to hurt him like that. I promised I wouldn't, but looking at him, I see there are still embers in my lover's eyes. Please... "pine tree, I love you!" His eyes lock with mine, and I see hope, faint, but it lingers. "I don't know what I'd do if you left...knowing I'd never see your smile again. Knowing I wouldn't be able to hear you as you speak, or to hug you and feel your warmth." Tears leaking down I take a small step foreword, seeing him not move I continue with these small steps. "your my whole world and the sole reason I choose to live" he laughs as he wipes the tears from his eyes "That's so corny..." smiling I laugh too "you still love me though" he laughs before he speaks again " yeah, I do" looking at me he tentatively takes a step forward. "..and you love me too, don't you?" His voice trembles, but he doesn't look away." Why wouldn't I, your perfect?" With a small blush, he says, "Then why did you say that? How come you didn't come?" Turning around to glare at his family, " Whatever they said, I don't want you to believe them." Looking back to him, I continue, "because it's a lie, you're my only light, my only love, you're my Pinetree." Taking another step towards him, I keep inching my way there.

"..Bill!" He cries as he runs; to me, the tears blind me temporarily. I feel as he collides with, "I'm sorry!" He cries, and I just hold him. As he cries, I silently follow suit as I cry, for how relieved I am and for how happy I am that he stayed, stayed, and chose to love me. "It's ok, Pinetree, I'm just glad you stayed." Hearing the click, I wasn't fast enough. I feel myself shoved as I hear the gunfire. Hearing the scream, I scramble up as I hear him fall. In horror, I see the crumpled form of Dipper and then silence. In what feels like an eternity, I run to him, pulling him onto my lap. I see his eyes open
"Why!?" I scream, yet he smiles, "love you..." he says, his voice almost non-existent. I can't stop my Sobbing, "you promised..." you wouldn't leave goes unsaid but unheard, as I hug him, feeling his blood seep onto my clothes. I keep sobbing.
"promise....promise to see you again," he says, " please don't go...I'll do anything!" His hand cups my cheek. "Just wait for me...I'll come back...just...wait. Promise," he says.

I feel as his body gets colder and I snatch the light that floats above him, my Pinetree, I sob. As I hold the small warmth in my hands, I can't let him leave yet, please just a little longer! I beg whoever's come to retrieve him.

As the crystal clear tears slid down his face. His voice was desperate, wanting nothing more than for the boy before him to wake up.
"C'mon, Pinetree...please, you can't leave me now! Not after what we went through. "He looked up to the aged man before him. "Why!? Why do you always want to be the hero... are you happy? Did you get what you wanted?"

Holding the limp body in his arms, the man before him looked like his world had been taken from him. All that he had, all he needed, was now gone, nothing but the cold body and a fractured soul. That's all he had left, too tired to be angry, too sad to bother with revenge. After all where would that get him... Nowhere. So he wept with all of his loves 'Family' watching, what did it matter anymore? He'd lost so much.

And as he held his broken soul in his hand, he knew, knew that he couldn't hang on forever, he'd have to return. As much as it hurt, he knew he'd come back, and he knew they'd meet again. "Say goodbye to the one that I know, but we'll meet some sunny day again....till next time, pine tree. I'll always be waiting for you to return, and when we do meet, I won't let you go!" Looking at the boy's family, he gently shut his loved ones' eyes and let his soul pass on, into the next life. "I know he'll return to me; he never breaks his promises. It hurts, and I don't know how long I'll wait, but it's all worth it. This beautiful pain will always be worth it, for my one and only Pinetree."

Closing his eyes, his form begins to fade, letting his soul wander till he returns. The man stays both to wait and to protect the place where he found his love, for he knows his love cherishes this place and all its little quirks. And some day he'd make his way back to him, and till then.

THE END....

I have one final epilogue to conclude this story, it took me so long to write a conclusion as in my life I seldom found that time between survival and resilience to see the road, yet as I've come to find the healing comes with time and soon youll see life only starts when you reenter into it knowing pain and love and the way to gain strength and comtinue walking again.....thanks again for reading this story, it compacted years of pain and loss that has finally come to a beautiful end haha corny but I'm fine with that.

Funny thing is, I wrote these last two chapters like a year or 2 ago
