The day Yuna acquired him. He had asked her to name him. She named him Kael and he asked her why. She gave him a grin that would have brought shivers down anyone's spine but he wasn't just anyone.
“ That is a name that'll remind me of why I seek a demonic power. ”
It was very vague but as long as he could get her soul in the end. To get her so powerful and have her soul seasoned well then all will be worth it.
She first used her newfound contract to kill people she hated. She burned them all alive and relished in their screams. Even for a demon who has lived far longer than her, he has never seen a young girl commit murder with such relish. Till now, that is.
“ Why do you want to kill her? ”
He remembered asking her as they watched her teacher attempt to get out of the invisible dome he created. A raging fire behind her as her eyes held her fear and desire to live. She was screaming something but it was muted due to the dome.
“ The bill comes due. ”
Perhaps she was just done with the world then.
“ You offered to send me to a new world. ”
He nodded at her as she then slid a novel towards him. He skimmed the cover. It was a young man with plain features wearing a hoodie with plain jeans. 'I alone level up' was the direct translation of the title as he quirked his eyebrow at her.
“ Send me to this world. ”
“ There's always a price in every monumental desire you seek. ”
She appeared to be thinking and perhaps if she was smarter than most mortals she should know that it was unwise to make a deal with a demon.
“ I payed the bill by burning souls. How much more do you need? ”
He remembered copying her sick grin as he ignored the brief shiver of her hands.
“ Much, much more. ”

Ok...I promise we'll go back to solo leveling chapters soon and maybe Yuna will meet our baby Shadow Monarch soon 💕. Sorry for the delay...I got lost reading some StrangeFrost fics and may have started a Loki fic that I still don't know how to end. I'm neck deep into Loki suffering fics right now.
