Chapter 5 - Friends and Non Friends

Karyn's P.O.V

I'm currently brooding in Biology class. I'm sitting with Trey who's trying desperately to cheer me up. I vaguely told him that the reason for my sour mood was Skylar .I just flash him little smiles in between. His jokes were really twisted.

"Thanks Trey but I'm just not in a happy mood today" I say with a strained smile because I realised people were giving us weird looks.

"I heard Mrs Crawford owns a taxi " he whispers out of the blues.

"What? How do you even know that " I asked in confusion.

"Cause she gives free rides" He says with a grin.

Everyone who hears that just stops and stares at him. There is an awkward silence before people burst out laughing. Me included.

Mrs Crawford turns and everyone tries to hide their laugh. She narrows her eyes before turning back to write on the board saying something about the human heart.

I look to Trey and I give him a smile. The bell rings signalling the end of the period and I pack up my things before leaving with Trey.

"Thank you Trey." I say with a small smile.

"My pleasure" He says with a small smile.

Trey has been my friend since the ending of sophmore year. He isn't unattractive neither is he drop dead gorgeous. He is just there. Maybe it's because I've never really seen him in that way. He is just a little taller than me maybe about 5,9 or 6 feet. He is really nice to everyone so I guess that's what people like most about him.

We go our separate ways because I have Economics next and he has some other class. I just realized  that I share this period with Sky.

Ughhhhhhh.

I know she is just being a good friend but it's still annoying and I know I can't stay mad at her. I go to my usual seat which is with Skylar. I see she's already there but I don't say a word to her.

I stare at the door waiting for the teacher to come in and I see Julio and his friend Ethan come through the door. I think they notice my eyes on them because Ethan and I mistakenly make eye contact. He just smiles and shrugs it off. Julio follows his line of sight and looks at me. He just scoffs and the walk past me.

Now It looks like I was staring at them. I mentally face palm myself. Julio will now think I was craving his attention. I roll my eyes at that. I don't really hate Julio. I just feel like we're both not compatible seeing as we both get in each other's hair. Really like how can someone be so-

"Ryn I'm sorry" Sky breaks my train of thought.

I just sigh. Luckily the teacher comes in and spares me from answering her. Skylar passes me a note.

I'm really sorry for what I did ; (

I smile and just decide to forgive her.

Fine but you owe me

She writes back

Mars?

    

Mars ;)

I smile because only she understands my love for chocolates. After a little while the ball rings and we decide to stop by our lockers to drop out books and head for lunch.
