Elizabeth's POV:

It's Friday again. Kio is picking me up tonight for a date. I have no idea what type of date it is so I don't know what to wear.

Kio

Kio what type of date is this?

Can't you wait for a surprise?

Ya but idk what to wear and in order to know what
to wear I have to know what type of date this is.

Wear sweatpants and a hoodie.

So you want me to look ugly for our date?

There's no way you can look ugly whatsoever. I know this
may not seem very romantic but I'm tired of tuxedos and fancy
dinners. My mom always drags me into those things and I want
our date to be different.

Sweats it is. Can't wait see you.

Can't wait to see you too ;)

I find black sweatpants that I never knew I owned and pair that with Kio's Nike hoodie that I still have. For footwear I decide to go with my new Nike sneakers. Kio's picking me up at 8 and its 7:28.

...

"Elizabeth! Kio's here! Come on down!" Mom says.

"Ok mom I'm coming!"

I run downstairs not looking my best but not looking my worst. My mom looks at me in a judgy kinda way.

"Eli are you really going to wear this? I don't think the dating world changed that much from when I was your age."

"I know Mom. Kio told me to wear sweats so I did."

"Mrs. Manning..." Kio starts.

"Oh call me Stephanie" Mom tells him.

"Ok well. Stephanie. I wanted our date to stand out. What can be more special than this."

"Of course. I wasn't questioning anything. Now you two go have fun. Bye!" Mom exclaims while pushing us out the door.

Kio grabs my hand and brings me to his white Porsche.

"Hop in!" he says.

"Kio where are we going?" I ask as I sit down.

"You'll see." Kio responds. "I like your hoodie by the way."

I smile.

We drive up to Newport beach. Kio opens the door for me.

"Why thank you Mr. Cyr" I say with a british accent.

"Come my lady" he says with the same accent.

We both laugh. Kio is holding a light brown basket and a blanket.

"We're having a picnic on the beach? Who knew Kio Cyr could be so romantic."
