Chapter 46 - Therefore She Is

MacKenzie's POV

"I know what DeVoe's doing." Barry tells Gypsy and Cisco. "It's not one machine. They're machines. Machines that work together, but they're still separate. Satellites."

"Separate satellites working together for a single purpose?" Iris asks

"So this guy really is a Bond villain." Cisco says

"DeVoe would need a massive amount of computational power for them to be able to talk to each other." Barry says. "Something to triangulate navigation between each satellite."

"So, like, a quantum computer?" Caitlin says

"Mercury Labs just put a whole system of quantum computers online, at their home base." Cisco says. "That's where he's going."

"Okay, great." Iris says. "This time, we catch DeVoe by surprise."

The others walk out to get ready leaving me, Iris, and Barry

I look at Barry

"You're staying close to me." Barry says. "Alright? By my side at all times. If you wanna be out in the field and DeVoe wants you, he's gotta go through me."

I nod and leave to get ready

Barry speeds in with me

While in superspeed, he drops me to the ground and hits DeVoe out of the way

"Clifford!" Marlise yells

"Uh-uh." Cisco says, breaching in behind her. "Don't move."

"Barry! Knock him out, and then cuff him!" Iris orders through the comms

"On it!" Barry answers

Barry speeds around and throws a lightning bolt

"Gypsy, now!" Iris says

Gypsy shoots her blasts at DeVoe

"Stop it, you're killing him!" Marlise screams her plead

Marlise turns around and punches Cisco and flipping him to the ground

She pulls a sword

"Cisco, look out!" Iris says

Gypsy saves Cisco by blasting Marlise

"Barry, hit him again!" Iris says

"Enough!" DeVoe screams, the force of Barry's powers ricocheting back on all of us

Barry and I are thrown across the room

As soon as we make contact with the ground, Barry grabs my arm and pulls me close to him

"Caitlin." Barry groans

I look up and see Caitlin with a cold gun

Barry and I get hit with DeVoe's gravity powers and are kept in our place

"Caitlin, what the hell are you doing?" Iris asks

"Bringing her back." Caitlin says, shooting

Ice covers DeVoe

"DeVoe is creating a sonic pulse." Iris tells her. "You need to get out of there before--"

But he blasted his pulse and is free of the ice

Caitlin grabs her ears

DeVoe freezes Caitlin

"Oh, I get it." DeVoe says. "You'd like me to frighten you into becoming your better half. Gladly."
