"They made you into a weapon and told you to find peace."

~

"You are not to speak of the situation at hand to anyone! Do I make myself clear?!" Captain Woermann shouted at us, spit flying past his brown mustache. "If I discover any one of you has exposed the state of affairs you witnessed, I will not hesitate to charge each of you with treason and execution!"

We all saluted. "Yes, sir!"

Woermann ordered the rest of us to be on standby with the other trainees that made it over, save for Mikasa and Armin. If I'm being quite honest, I was uncomfortable about the whole thing. When the lift landed on the ground, Captain Woermann was the first to address us. He was supposed to be leading the supply depot and yet he abandoned them as they abandoned us. All of the Garrison soldiers had their blades and muskets drawn with their eyes were locked on Eren. The rest of us were irrelevant. The fact that we weren't allowed to speak about it and ordered to leave, didn't sit right with me either. Not to mention I was already feeling uneasy discovering Eren is the Rogue Titan.

"Is it just me, or does Captain Woermann always threaten to execute everyone for not following orders?" Lea pointed out as we sat down on a bench the other soldiers placed around the streets outside of the evacuated homes where the injured rested inside.

"Yeah," I laughed dryly. "he's quick to execute us cadets and soldiers but the first to run from a fight with the titans."

"I don't blame him." I heard Jean say at the table behind ours where he sat with Bertholdt, Leon, Annie had her back turned to them but was sitting at the edge of the tabletop and Reiner, who leaned against the stone pillar in between our two tables.

"Oh? So you'd rather kill people than titans?" Lea asked, looking past me at Jean. I raised a brow as I turned, lifting my foot over the bench so my legs were on both sides, curious to his answer.

The light eyed boy glared at her across the way. "That's not what I meant, you idiot. I don't blame him from heading the other way when it comes to titans."

I shot Jean's glare right back. "You're the idiot. You do know he was in charge of the supply depot, right? And we found him over the wall instead." I spat out.

"I know that." He scoffed. "All I was trying to say is I wouldn't wanna deal with anymore titans myself. Unlike Eren, I'm not willingly charging to my death."

I shot up then, a scowl settled on my face. "Just because we know Eren is alive now, does not mean you get to go back to-" A hand lightly touching mine made me pause and look over my shoulder to see Lea standing there.

"Not so loud..." She whispered. Her seafoam eyes shifted to the side, looking to see if anyone was paying attention to us.

"Hey Jean!" We turned to see Ymir staring over at us along with Christa, Connie and a nameless cadet who was with them. I made a face. It would be Ymir to overhear us. I found out Ymir and Christa broke off from our group before we reached the rooftops to find gas themselves. According to Ymir, they were looking for us but that's when Eren was rampaging in titan form, unbeknownst to them, so they retreated over the wall while they could. I gave her a piece of my mind for breaking away from the squad like that, but I was still glad they made it out alive. "Where in the world's Mikasa? She get hurt or what?"

I sighed before sitting back down on the bench, Lea followed in suit now sitting next to me instead of in front of me. I was relieved she wasn't paying attention to us but we still couldn't speak of what's going on to anyone who wasn't there. Jean didn't answer Ymir, just took a swig of water from a canteen, greedily drinking it so much so that water dripped down his chin.
