Aelin's POV

I woke up in a strange bed. Huh? How did I get here? Elentiya! No!

I didn't realize I had been screaming the words until a female with blue-grey eyes and golden-brown hair and a male with black hair and violet eyes came running in.

"Are you okay?" the female asked me as I put my head in my hands.

"Elentiya!" I screamed, tears welling in my eyes.

"Look. I need you to calm down for me. Because I want to help you but I can't until you tell me what's going on. Can you do that? Please." I looked up at her with my tear-streaked face and nodded. "Okay. So who's Elentiya?"

"My daughter. She was born the day I came here." I whispered. Something about the female made me immediately trust her. Maybe it was the pull I felt towards her. The same pull I felt when I saved Yrene and Manon. Or maybe it was her kindness.

"Why would you come here without her?" She asked as she sat down on the bed.

"I didn't mean to. One second she was in my arms to escape, him. And the next he had her and I got sucked through the portal I had made." I said as I started wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Who's this he, you keep talking about?" She asked as she offered me a drink and I gratefully took it and took small drinks.

"He's a fae male. He never told me his name, but he had me locked up for 8 months and then I finally had the time to escape and I lost her. And now I'm in a different world and my mate and family and friends and daughter are in my world," I told her as I finished off the water

"Wait. A different world?" I nodded and the water automatically refilled.

"You have water magic?" I asked in wonder. She nodded her head.

"Me too. It's just a drop, from my mother." I showed her the drop of water I could control from the glass of water. "She had powerful water magic. I loved what she could do with it."

The door flew open and I snarled at the person who entered.

And my fire magic burst free and pinned her to the wall. "You get one sentence, Deanna."

Feyre's POV

This stranger had appeared and I hadn't thought her story would be so sad. I saw the delight and wonder shine on the stranger's face when she saw my water magic.

Amren burst into the room only to be pinned against the wall by... fire magic. I stared at the stranger as she said, "You get one sentence, Deanna."

I was about to do something when She started screaming, "Get out of my head! Get out!" And the room burst into blue flames as she attempted to get Rhys's magic out of her head.

Amren seemed to realize what was going on because she shouted, "Rhys! Stop it! Aelin's been through enough!"

"Out! Stop!"

"She attacked you!" He shouted at her.

"I deserved it! I haven't been the nicest to her," Amren said with a small smile on her face.

"What do you mean? She just woke up. And you haven't been exactly nice to any of us," I told her as I threw my hands in the air.

"I'll explain later. Right now we need to find her before she kills anyone." Amren replied before running out the door. I was going to ask her what she meant when I realized that the girl, Aelin, was gone. My eyes widened.

We followed Amren and after a couple of minutes, we heard shouting, "STAY BACK!!! Don't try any of your mind tricks on me!" That was definitely her. We turned the corner to find Cassian backing away from her and she was on fire. "ALL OF YOU STAY BACK!!!!"

She had a handful of knives in her left hand and was pointing them at all of us and as if to make a point as I stepped forward one of the knives grazed my ear before I could even blink and stuck in the wall behind me.

Okay, so she's not kidding around.

I felt Rhys's power surge for her again and another knife came for his heart. "I told you to STOP!" She shouted and I managed to shield Rhys with a wall of fire.

"ENOUGH!!!" And the world set on fire. Fire that wasn't my own. And wasn't Aelin's. No. It was Amren's.

"You! You stole it! I gave my power to the lock and you stole it!" Aelin shouted with an accusing finger pointed at Amren.

"Aelin. Can we please talk this out?" Amren asked, exhausted.

"Why should I listen to a word you say!" Aelin shouted And I finally realized what had happened. This wasn't anger. This was a female who had been broken, over and over again until she couldn't take anymore.

"Everyone put your weapons down. That is an order from your High Lady." Cassian didn't have any weapons on him, Rhys just gave me a funny look and Amren just obeyed. Aelin gave her a confused look.

"Last time I checked, Deanna. You didn't take orders from anyone." She said with a hint of swagger which Amren smiled at.

"Aelin. I really am sorry. Can I explain myself?" Amren asked while sitting down.

"Please. I would love for you to explain yourself, Deanna." She said while leaning against the wall. "I'm keeping these." Rhys started to protest but I elbowed him and Aelin pocketed the knives.

"First off, it's Amren now. Secondly, I was jealous when I stole your power. I gave up my true immortality for your power and then you used the rest of your power, that my sister gave you, to lock the lock. You ended up sending me back here though, which I thank you for when you killed the rest of the gods. And now... I want to give you it back, because... Well, it was wrong of me. Even when I was a god." I just gaped at her there was no way any of that was true but Aelin just smiled at her.

"Well, you better hope my mate never finds out because after our first encounter... Let's just say he was furious and he actually wanted to hunt you down. I mean who is foolish enough to try to hunt the goddess of the hunt?" Amren just gave her a smile before reaching out with a hand as a ball of light entered it. Aelin reached out and as the power absorbed into her she took a deep breath.

"Wait just one minute. I thought you were a death angel." Rhys said. Aelin just looked at Amren with a frown.

"I was. But after I found my way here I was also able to cross between this world and Aelin's. And I am technically the adopted sister of Mala fire-bringer. So let's leave it at I was the goddess of the hunt and moon, I was a death angel, and I am the adopted sister of Mala and I am High fae and my name is Amren." Aelin just nodded before walking away.

"Do you know why Aelin hates my magic so much, Amren?" Rhys asked me after a couple of minutes.

"I do. But before you ask. It is not my story to tell. It is hers and I swear that if you ever touch her with your magic again, I will make you pay. And I don't care whether or not you are my friend or High lord or Feyre's mate. I. Don't. Care. She has suffered enough and I know you may not understand what that is like because I know none of you have suffered as she has."

We all just stared as Amren stalked off.
