The moment Abigail stepped in the house Nolan smiled, he and Evelyn were seated in the living room. She stared at her father for a good minute and then ran into his arms. Abigail hugged her father tightly and cried on his chest all the while the only words she whispered were "I missed you papá"

Nolan did the same he hugged his daughter and let her cry on his shoulder, patting her back he tried to calm her down. He was meeting his daughter after fourteen months the last he saw her when he visited her in New York. She was so busy with her case they didn't get to spend much time together.

Abigail has always been busy to spend time with family. When she shifted to New York for higher studies and work she never looked back not even to her family. It was her dad who time to time went to her, met her, spent time with her. Studies and Work nothing else mattered to her other than that. She was ambitious and to get to her ambition she lost something precious that's family. Which is why Evelyn hates Abigail.

She abandoned her family yet her dad always cared the most for Abigail. Evelyn didn't like it, Abigail wasn't there in their life for so long yet her father didn't let her go, she was always there even if not present physically. Since last year life has been on the downhill for Nolan and Evelyn they have been through thick and thin together and Abigail not even once inquired how is her family?

Past one year she didn't even realize her own father's absence. Is ambition so important that you forget the father who raised you up? That you don't even realise that you're missing on something very important?

"Where were you?? I took a vacation so I could spend time with you. You didn't even come to meet me this year"

"Awww, you actually realised this Abigail" Evelyn mocked her. Nolan glared at his younger daughter but it didn't even an inch affect her. He hated to admit it but she was correct

"Abigail let's sit and talk"Nolan suggested, Evelyn sat adjacent to Abigail while Nolan sat beside her

"Where were you all these days?" She asked. Nolan wiped her tears he smiled at her ruefully

"Abby, there's something I've been hiding," he said taking unwanted long pauses. He didn't know how to tell her or explain her the mess he created for himself. Nor did he know how will she react to it

"What is it papá" she sobbed. Peter fetched a glass of water for her which Nolan made her drink.

He took a deep breath and said "Your mom's alive" it was silent, complete silence. No other words were spoken he waited for Abigail to say something but she kept quite

Abigail was numb her breath hitched for a second when her father spoke. She couldn't believe her own ears. She lost her mother when she was three, how is this even possible? She couldn't say anything as if the words stuck in her throat. She opened her mouth to say something but she wasn't able to form words. Her life just took a one-eighty degree change in a mere minute.

"She was alive all those years" Nolan chose to speak. Seeing her dilemma to whether speak or not he understood she was shocked. When he first told Evelyn about it even she was shocked. Evelyn hasn't still forgiven her mother he knew Abigail wouldn't either

"Papá" was all she could form. Evelyn knew in what state Abigail might be she was in the same when her father told her

"She fell in love with another guy," Nolan said his voice held, suffering. All his life he loved only one woman but she couldn't do that. She found her solace somewhere else. It pained him. "She has heart disease" every word that came out of his mouth felt like a slap to Abigail. Her existence felt delusional to her.
