Hope Mikaelson's POV
"Why would they bring the necklace to the mines?" I asked.
"I don't know." Regina said. "And I don't think you want to know either."
"We have to do something!" Hope said. "If anything happens to that necklace"-
"Nothing is going to happen." Emma said. "I can promise you that."
"Wait, Hope, you never told us why that necklace was so important to you." Lizzie said.
"Hope, you should tell them." I said.
"Wait she knows about it too?" Josie asked pointing at me. "Why her, out of all people?"
I tried not to get offended. After everything I've done I kind of deserved that comment.
"Listen, she told me because she had to and also because we're sort of friends now, I guess." I said.
"Friends? Seriously, you can do so much better than that." Lizzie told Hope.
"I'm not a that, I'M A SHE!" I screamed.
I was trying so hard not to start a fight with them this whole trip but right now they got on my last nerve.
We continued yelling at each other and Lizzie was about to throw hands until Regina shot a fireball up in the air.
"ENOUGH!" Regina yelled. Everyone became silent after that.
"We are here to work as a team, no fighting!" Regina said. "Now let's go to the mines!"
"What was that all about?" Hook asked. "I thought you guys were all friends."
"It's complicated." I said. "I guess you can call us frenemies."
All of us left the vault and went to the mines. The mines were located underground and it was also very dark in there so we each had to use our flashlights on our phone to see the way.
I thought the mines were going to be pretty small but when we went in, it looked like a maze.
There were 3 different paths we could take. It would take us forever to find out where the necklace is located.
"Alright. The mines is not as small as it seems." Hope said. "The best thing to do right now is split up."
"Okay, me and Regina will take the first path. Lizzie, Josie, and both Hopes will take the second path, and Emma and Hook will take the third path." Alaric said.
After we went our separate ways, I started getting a bad feeling about all this. Why would Alaric want the four of us together, especially after the fight we just had?
I decided not to think about it. Most of the time, I was the reason a fight would occur. Maybe keeping silent the whole time will release the tension between all of us.
We were all quiet for at least 10 minutes until Josie broke the silence.
"So, Hope, are you going to tell us about the necklace or not?" Josie asked.
"Fine, I'll tell you." Hope said. "The necklace helps me control my powers. Without it, I feel something bad might happen."
"Why didn't you tell us?" Lizzie asked.
"Because I never got the chance to." Hope replied.
"But you had the chance to tell Hope." Lizzie said.
"Look, I don't want us to be fighting anymore." Hope said. "So whatever is going on between you guys needs to stop."
"We're not the problem!" Josie yelled. "Hope is!"
"I'm trying to change!" I said. "I'm trying to fix myself! Why can't you guys see that?"
"I'll never see you any other way except as the monster you are!" Lizzie said.
"Leave her alone!" Hope said. "She's telling the truth!"
"Why are you defending her?" Lizzie asked. "After everything she's done to you!"
"Because I believe that people can change!" Hope said. "I forgive her! Why can't you?"
"I don't want to talk about this anymore." Lizzie said.
The rest of us followed the path in silence again. This was the moment when I realized I wasn't the only broken one in this group.
In some ways we all were.

Alaric's POV
I kept on staring at Regina until she said something. We were walking down this path for 5 minutes and she couldn't even look at my face.
"Anything you want to say to me?" I finally asked.
"I have nothing to say to you." Regina said.
"Oh she speaks." I said. "I saw the way you lit that fireball when the girls were fighting. Looks like you're still the badass I remember."
"Please stop talking." Regina said.
"I just want you to talk to me." I said.
"I have to talk to you?" Regina said. "You're the one that has explaining to do."
Oh no here it goes. The conversation I was trying so hard to avoid.
"Why did you leave?" Regina asked.
I tried to avoid the conversation by not say anything. But she kept on bothering me about it.
"Why did you leave me?" Regina said. "What was more important that you had to do that you left without even saying goodbye."
"I had no choice." I said. "If I told you, you would've wanted to come with me! I needed you to get on with your life."
"We could've been together though. I would've left everything for you!" Regina said.
"I couldn't do it." Alaric said. "Wherever I live there is danger everywhere! I did what was right to protect you!"
"Emma's daughter told me that you're the headmaster of the school she's going to." Regina said. "What is so dangerous about that?"
"It's not about the school, it's about who resides in it." I said. "There are vampires, werewolves, and witches! They may be kids but they're dangerous creatures that you can't be around!"
"You're a human and they haven't done anything to you!" Regina said.
"What makes you think they haven't?" I said. "I have gotten into situations where I almost gotten killed!"
"I have powers. I could've defended myself." Regina said. "Whatever, I don't want to talk about it anymore."
My mind was full of anger, sadness, and regret. She was right, she could've protected herself. I was just too scared to admit it.
Whatever we had in the past would never happen between us again because of me.
I had lost her for good.

Hope Mikaelson's POV
Alaric called me on his phone and said that he couldn't find the necklace. Hope's parents also called her and told her the same thing. We all met up in the same place where we started.
Turns out the necklace wasn't in the mines after all and all of this has been for nothing.
"I'm sorry guys, my locator spell said it was here." Regina said. "Let me do another one."
Regina used a spell to show an image of the necklace moving across a map. The necklace was moving across the map in different directions.
"Whoever has the necklace keeps moving it!" Emma said. "They know we're looking for it."
