(The stage tranforms into Pulitzer's office with phones making a cacophony of sounds)

Hannah: I'm sorry, Mr. Pulitzer will have to call you back.

"I'm going to guess that our plan worked." Jack said.

Seitz: No, he's very busy. He'll have to call you back. I'm sorry.

Hannah: He can't talk. He'll call you back.

Seitz: Mr. Pulitzer's office. No, he can't take your call. I'm sorry.

"How does anyone focus with all that noise?" Smalls questioned.

"Eh, I'm used to it."

"Of course you are, Jack. Your Newsies are an absolute mess."

Hannah: I'm sorry, Mr. Pulitzer's simply not available.

Seitz: Well, I'm sorry! I am. . .

Pulitzer: Silence those phones!

"Finally!" Smalls cheered.

(The phone speakers are placed back on their receivers)

Seitz: The entire city is. . .

(The phone starts ringing again, and Seitz quickly silences it)

The Newsies let out a slight chuckle.

"This part never fails to make me laugh even though it's simple." Skye comments.

Seitz: Sorry. The entire city is shut down. No one is working anywhere, and everyone is blaming you!

Hannah: They're all calling. The mayor, the publishers, the manufacturers.

"Did I ever tell you guys how much I love Hannah's accent?" Skye asked the fourth wall. "Because I love it."

Hannah: (gasps) And such language.

"You wanna hear some fucking language? Stay at the lodge for an hour." Albert states.

"We're not allowed to curse, but we're also not allowed to smoke or gamble, so I guess we're all shit at following rules." Race added while taking a long drag from his cigar.

"Guys!" Davey hissed while covering Les' ears. "He's young and impressionable!"

"Oh, sit on a dick, Davey."

"You sit! Sit on a . . . Eh, in a . . . Uh, do your job!" Davey said while glaring and jabbing a finger at Skye.

Bunsen: You can't just barge in here!

Jack: Mornin', gents!

(Jack slams a paper on Pulitzer's desk)

"Skye, after we finish the musical, can you help me set up a campaign to end the suffering of inanimate objects?"

"Why, of course, Elmer."

"Can I help too?"

"We appreciate all the help we can get, Crutchie." Elmer said.

Pulitzer: You're behind this. We had a deal.

Jack: And it came with a money-back guarantee.

(Jack flips the money onto the desk)

"You have no idea how much I use that line in real life situations." Skye commented. "Also, can we talk about how flawless that throw was?"

Jack: Oh, and thank you for your lesson on the powers of the press.

Bunsen: Did you read this, boss? These kids put out a pretty good paper. Very convincing.
