Suddenly, the man at the front of the bus said, 'There is a surprise for you, dear Lisa, and very urgent, too.'
Breaking off from her conversation, she looked down the aisle and saw...
'J-Jack?' she whispered, and Everyone else fell silent, somehow hearing her speak.
Just like in a movie.
And, also like a movie, there he was, standing in the center of the bus, hands in the pockets of his navy blue jacket, looking at her.
There he was, Jack with his trench coat, Jack with his intelligent blue eyes, Jack with his... where was his smile? His handsome, carefree smile? Should he not smile at seeing his sister after 5 years? After supposedly coming back from the dead?
And then, in that moment, she noticed that he was also a battleworn Jack, a Jack with scars, a Jack changed forever...
But that didn't matter right now, nothing did, except for the fact that he was here, he was here on her birthday, he was alive!
Lisa walked slowly, as if in a trance, and when she reached him and looked up at him, and he looked down into her eyes and smiled sadly, she felt like she was floating away, away from the hushed whispers from her friends, away from the fear of him not reaching home, away from all her worries...
And then she threw her arms around him, for the first time in 5 years, and she felt bliss. And she knew, in her heart, that he was going to stay, and that she would not be sick anymore, because he was here now, here to stay.
After what could have been minutes, or years, they let go of each other, and Jack said, softly, 'I love you, Lisa... I love you...' and Lisa said, without hiding anything, 'I love you too, Jack.'
A/N: How was it? This is THE MAIN chapter till now, and the first one I wrote for this book. FYI, I had a dream of a similar scene, and part of the next chapter, which inspired the book... thank you, dream!
In case you were wondering, I am not ending the book now, there is more. However, I did think of Lisa going on an adventure to save Jack, but I like this plot more. Which plot, you ask? Keep reading!
