We reached home in the end...it included calling our mother.
Everything went perfectly from then on - I healed, Reid moved into a home with his family near ours, Jack resigned from the army and studied medicine.
Our parents, of course, were mad, but they got over it eventually.
All in all, we were happy.
Happy for what the future looked like, for what we had accomplished so far, for who we were.
I was happy because Jack was happy.
