Waking in the morning for another day of travel. I find Alex still sleeping, and I decide to go look for some fresh berries. Knowing there was a bush nearby, and hoping they still grow there. I leave the cave to go looking for it.
Finding it a little ways away from the cave. Folding up one of the sides of the dress to make a little carrier for the berries. I begin to pick them, when suddenly I smelt something foul.
It was a wet, fur smell, fishy...
Wondering if something had died near the stream, when I heard a roar come from behind me. Making me drop my berries, and stare at the bear standing on it hind legs. I scream, immediately shifting.
Dodging it's big body, knowing if I had waited a second more I would be dead. I dodge again when it comes running toward me. Baring my teeth at the bear, telling him that I would fight if I have too. My hair rising up on my back, trying to make me look bigger.
Suddenly, I smelt more wolves nearby. Wondering which pack they came from. And then they were here, by my side. Realizing this was my pack, and I bark at them telling them to stand down.
The bear knew he was outnumbered, and he growled, walking off into a different part of the woods. I shift, and smile at my pack.
They also shifted, giving me a hug, "We missed you so much!" My sister said, pulling me into the first hug.
"I missed you too! How is father?" I asked.
When suddenly, I heard howl come from the cave. Knowing it was Alex calling out for me, all my pack members look to where the howl came from.
"Who is with you?" My sister asked.
"It's the Prince, he decided to come with me. To meet the Lords. We heading back to the castle. Would you all please follow us at a safe distance, just in case something happens. I've been having a bad feeling about the whole thing for a long time." I said.
"Yes, we will all keep a safe distance away." My sister said.
All of them shifting, and running back into the forest. I shifted, and ran back to the cave, a little out of breath as I shifted. "Where were you?!" Alex yelled, grabbing me by the shoulder.
Looking into his brown eyes, "I was out picking berries for breakfast, when a bear kind of attacked me. But I handled it." I said, shrugging his hands off of me.
Heading to my things to start packing up. "What?!" Alex said, "Why didn't you howl out for me!"
"Because, I'm a big girl and I can handle things on my own." I angrily said, shoving things into bags.
"Elanor... You could of been killed!" Alex said, walking over to me.
I stood up against him, "Well, I'm not dead if you aren't so blind! Now we need to go!" I said, grabbing my stuff and walking over to the mare.
Ignoring each other for the rest of the day. I could feel the precise of my other pack members nearby.
