Chp. 27

"I know that Happy, but from who?" he asked as he glared the white sheet with words.

As Natsu was glaring Happy noticed one unopened letter addressed to Lucy herself.

"Hey, Natsu, this one's not opened yet,"

"Huh? Let me see," Natsu spoke as he snatched the unopened letter. Once again it had the weird symbol as the seal, not wanting to dwell on the matter any further Natsu ripped opened the seal and began to read Lucy's letter.

"Who the hell is this guy?" Natsu asked with anger and confusion written all over both his body and voice.

Unbeknownst to his little furry friend that was trying still buried under a pile of written paper spoke his mind.

"What does it say?" Happy asked as he managed to get half his body out of the death grip of unwanted words and paper.

"It says, Dearest..." Natsu began to read to his furry friend, without thinking or remembering what Lucy had warned him just a few hours before.

Through the hallway, passed the bathroom door sat a certain blonde mage, hair spiraled down her shoulders and freely swimming in the crystal blue water filled with white and transparent bubbles. Leaning her head on the edge of the bathtub, the young lady began to think. She didn't understand why this player of nonsense became overprotective overnight. What was his purpose? Was this part of his schemes? Did he have a goal? If so what was it and how far would he go to achieve it?

So much thinking began to give the beautiful mage a headache, sighing for a break Lucy sunk half her face into the water, leaving her nose just above the serve. Flashes of how the salmon haired mage treated her on her first day of school and the after were completely out of the ordinary. From bossy, playboy to the overprotective and caring person was enough for any girl to fall in love.

LOVE!?

Lucy quickly sat up, bringing her lushes legs into the plump chest, wrapping her glistering arms around them. The blonde sighed heavily.

'What am I going to do?' she thought

The idea of falling for a player was on the top five of her no-no list. She knew falling in love with one will end badly let alone date one. Everything that has to do with a player was bad news to the core. There was no changing them, it was simply who they are and no one would change that. Not unless they chose to, but where were the chances in that? To anyone who thought differently was a fool, a sad fool.

And Lucy was becoming just that.

'I'm getting caught up with him and I can't let that happen.' She thought once more, 0unplugging the tub and standing up. She then turned on the shower, adjusting the water temperature to her liking.

The blonde mage didn't want to become the next fool on his list. She wanted to love yes of course just like the next person, however, she wants to be loved back just the same or if not more so. But finding that now in days is like looking for a golden puppy. It just doesn't seem to be close by let alone be real...right?

Bringing her face into warm to hot water Lucy decided to just forget about it and continue to enjoy the peace and quiet of her shower. Tomorrow is another day and another time to overthink once more.

Outside her bathroom door and down the hall was a levied salmon mage with a worried furry friend by his side. Afraid to move or say a word he knew had to do something before his partner in crime did something he might regret. Trying to think of the best words to say his mind went blank and blurted out the only thing that was screaming at him from the back of his mind.

"Maybe she already had a boyfriend?"

Slapping his mouth shut with his hands he waited patiently for his buddy to react. Nonetheless Happy had the urge to stop, drop, and roll of laughter. This would definitely be the first girl that he couldn't get, it was more entertaining seeing how stomped Natsu could get knowing there was a girl that was completely off-limits to him. Or so he thought.

"That can't be possible!" He finally responded

Ah, of course, the first step of accepting reality, first step: denial, can't do much without that being their first right? Happy being the cool friend decided to tease him a bit and see what he would do.

"Right, because their probably already married."

"Like hell she is!" he spat as he stood up like thunder, crumbling Lucy's later with his right palm.

Whoa, that was a quick response as it went to step two: anger. The furry little thing was snickering at his accomplishment but decided to stop here before anything else happens, yet he has never seen his best friend act like such before and especially not over a girl. Was his pal hiding something from him? Of was this all his imagination? Better yet was this all a dream? If that was the case he had tones of mischievous ideas planned out and ready for action. But first to calm the raging pinked in front of him.

"Maybe he's a relative?"

This response seemed to calm the salmon mage just enough to sit him back down and un-crumble Lucy's letter. For a few moments, Natsu just sat there glaring at the piece of paper almost as if hoping the words would disappear from his presents

"It better be otherwise, why would; she let him call her pet names and not me." He finally sneered out with greeted teeth.

Nothing, but pure rage coming out from the bottom of his stomach, seeing this his little buddy finally had a lightbulb flash over his head as he relisted all the odd stuff his human pal had done to the young human blonde that was just in the other room and with every other human girl he ever dated. Indeed this one was different she was weird and it was rubbing off on his pal. He didn't know whether to stop him or tease him. The thinking was too much for his gorges brain so he went with the second.

"You like her." Happy sang his words as he brought his paws up to his face, sprouted wings, and began flying around him.

Natsu ready to deny the statement ended up saying something completely out of the ordinary that struck him to the core.

"Shut up Happy."

Trying to remand angry and manlike façade with strength only demolished with the pink hue in his cheeks. Shocking Happy at the same time as his jaw touched the floor. He didn't expect him to actually accept it, more like deny it first and over time accept it. This did they were both weird. Trying to change the subject Happy remembered something else he wanted to show his now weird pal.

"Anyways look at what else I found."
