"What're you going to do about it?" I ask.

"What do you want me to do about it?" He asks stepping closer.

"I know you won't do anything." I say crossing my arms.

He pulls me into his chest breathing heavily, "I wouldn't be so sure."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I wake up to my stupid mother hammering the wall. Groaning, I get out of bed and walk to her door. The hardwood floor is like ice against my skin making me shiver.

"Hey?" I knock on the door.

She opens with her hair up in a bun, "What?"

"What're you doing?" I ask playing with my white hair.

"Putting up pictures, you should get it trimmed." She says looking at my hair.

"It's still at my shoulders, I'm good." I say turning.

I have no choice but to get dressed now. I pull on a pair of black jeans and a white shirt that I tie in a not at my belly button. Looking at the mess on my head I call hair and decide to brush it. All morning my mom still bangs the damn wall making me have a headache. When I walk down stairs I'm thankful I put on socks because the floor is even colder. I make some eggs and toast and sit at the table by myself to eat. I never ate with her, we weren't that close.

I'm surprised we even had the house we did. A two story four bedroom house, of course my mom had almost everything white. I'm not too messy which is probably why she went with that bold decision. I used to have brown hair but I dyed it a year ago, my green eyes stood out thanks to it.

After finishing breakfast I wash my plate and cup then go up stairs to slip on my vans.

"Ellie?" My mom calls.

I hate when she calls me that.

"What?" I ask.

"Do you have everything for the first day of school tomorrow?" She asks.

"Yes, don't worry." I say tying my shoes laces.

I was looking forward to school surprisingly. At least I'll be able to see my friends, my mom is really popular in the neighborhood so she always has people over. Not to mention how nice she is, sometimes it's annoying.

When I walk past my mom's door she calls me again.

"What?" I ask opening the door.

"I... need to talk to you." She says frowning.

She sits on the bed and I sit next to her. I honestly barely ever see her upset, she's always so happy.

"I'll be leaving for a while, you know work." She says.

I pause in shock. This could either go horrible or great, with my luck it's most likely choice number one. She takes my hand, hers are warm and sweaty.

"I'll be checking on you soon." She says.

I nod trying to process this whole thing, "Okay." I say calmly.

"It'll take some time to get used to but it won't be too long." She says.

I nod and stand to walk out the door, "I love you." She says.

I haven't said that to her in years, so I just nod and walk out the door. I pull my phone out and select my friend's contact.

"Hey Blake!" I say holding the phone to my ear.

"What's up Liz?" He says laughing.

"You excited for school tomorrow?" I ask.

"yep, already have a new friend for our group." He says.

"What?" I ask.

"Well, Mark actually knows him but he told me." He says.

A new friend, I wouldn't mind expanding.

"Sounds great Blake I'll call Mark now." I say.

"Okay see you tomorrow." He says then hangs up.

I sit back in my chair taking a deep breath. Scrolling through my contacts I stop on Mark and call.

It rings twice then he picks up, "Hey Liz, what's up?" He says.

"I heard we have a new recruit." I say.

"Yeah, I just met him, I figured he'd blend in nicely." He says.

"What's his name?" I ask.

"Ummm... Parker." He says.

"Okay, well see you tomorrow can't wait to meet your friend." I say.

"He's OUR friend." He says.

I laugh and hang up trying to decide if I want to call my girls. Deciding to I go to our group chat and begin to text.

I turn my car on and pull out of the drive way. The sun shines bright in my eyes so I pull down the sun blocker. When I pull in the drive through to my regular coffee place there's two cars ahead of me. One is taking forever so I play with my rings, the cars move and I sigh in annoyance.

When I'm done ordering I decide to head to my park. I like to go there for many reasons but one being it's not very popular. When I park I run to the tall tower that holds the slide and get onto the roof of it. Most people would be afraid but heights never were a problem for me.

"Hey!" I hear a voice yell.
