@ZaynMalik – This isn’t easy for me to say but last night Emili gave birth to our beautiful baby boy Rory Edward Malik, unfortunately he was born not breathing. It’s a tough time but thank you for all the support. We really appreciate it. #RIPRory #RIPminiMalik
The fans were extremely supportive about everything. They sent lots of really lovely messages and were understanding about Zayn not being able to do any shows for a while. When the day of the funeral arrived, both me and Zayn were upset. The car came to pick us up and took us to the church. When we got there the outside gates of the graveyard were lined with fans. Each of them wearing black and standing in complete silence.
We took our seats at the front of the church next to the rest of the band. The small coffin was carried to the front of the church to ‘Moments’. Then it was time for me to say my farewell.
‘Well I will start by thanking you all for coming today. It means a lot. I remember when I first found out that I was pregnant, both me and Zayn were ecstatic. If you had asked me then if I ever thought I would be at my sons’ funeral I would have said not in a million years, but here I am. I know that I didn’t have a chance to get to know Rory very well but there were so many things we didn’t get to do together. I’m going to shut up now because he wouldn’t want me upset but he will always be in my heart and I will miss him a lot.’
The coffin was then led out of the church and to the grave to Lana Del Rey – Born to Die. We all stood around the grave as the coffin was lowered in. Tears began to fall from both mine and Zayns eyes. I took out the letter I had wrote to Rory and threw it onto the wooden box which was now laying in the ground.
Zayn still had his fingers entwined with mine. Everyone had started to walk away, leaving just me and him to look at our baby.
‘Come on. Let’s go home now. We have said goodbye, we can come back soon to check he’s okay’
‘Okay then Zayn, let’s go home’
