"Ugh! Why do we even have that thing?! Everything's digital anyway!" Taehyung huffed, oddly enraged by the sound of the clock.
"It's just a clock, Tae." Namjoon told him while searching through his bag for something. Taehyung had been getting more and more easily aggravated by things lately.
"Why does it decide to be so loud only once I'm working?"
"It's not loud, you're just not used to not hearing yourself talk for five minutes." He stood up, placing his hands on his hips and darting his eyes around the room.
Taehyung wanted to respond to his friend's unexpected sassy remark, but didn't know what to say. It wasn't like he was wrong.
However, Taehyung wasn't actually working. He was definitely trying, but he constantly found his mind in other places. Especially one other specific place. One specific place that, frankly, he was tired of catching his mind in.
It was always Jimin this and Jimin that. He was trying to think of some way he could talk to him, and had been for the past several days. He knew after that mess of a working meet-up, he definitely couldn't ask Jimin to just hang out.
Not like his pride could handle doing that anyway.
"Have you seen my phone? I've got everything else packed up but for some reason I can't find it." Namjoon asked.
Taehyung shook his head, leaving Namjoon to stomp off into the next room to scan it for his phone once again.
Taehyung then felt a vibration on the table, drawing his attention to the phone in question which was sitting right next to him. He laughed.
"Why don't you just stay? The festival would be a lot more fun with you, anyway." Taehyung raised his voice slightly to be heard well from the other room.
"You're just saying that because I buy you rice cakes."
"Yes, but that doesn't make it any less true."
He couldn't see Namjoon's face, but he knew the exact eye-rolling expression he was making.
"Do you know if Jimin's gonna go or not?"
"Why would I know that?" Taehyung quickly spat, suddenly defensive.
Namjoon sighed.
"Have you still not talked to him?"
"I don't see why I should. Does he talk to me?"
"No. Well, I don't know, but isn't that the problem?"
Taehyung opened his mouth to speak, then closed it when he realized he didn't know what the say.
Fine, he admitted to himself.
Fine, he wanted to be alone with Jimin, to talk to him and ask why the hell he was ignoring him. It irked him beyond belief how much he wish he didn't care, but he did.
However, he knew if he texted Jimin, he wouldn't agree to meet up. Hell, he probably wouldn't even respond. He probably still didn't have Taehyung saved in his contacts.
