Taehyung looked up at the sky filled with clouds as a few crows flew by. They looked miniscule from where he was standing. He breathed in a deep breath, filling his lungs with the crisp city air. It smelled a bit of smoke, but when didn't it? A raindrop hit him in the eye.
"Agh!" He rubbed his eye and decided to stop looking up.
He had heard that it was going to snow in a week or two, which broke his heart, but he was glad that Spring finally seemed to be coming. Slowly, but surely.
Sometimes...very slowly. Many people who had been caught without umbrellas had stopped and were taking shelter from the light rain from underneath the eaves of various buildings. Taehyung had the choice to stop and wait, too, but he just wanted to get home as fast as he could.
As loud as the bustling of the city was, he seldom put on the headphones he always kept in his bag. He loved to hear the noises of everything going on around him.
He would normally love a time like this. Walking through the city alone, early afternoon, though the sunlight was strongly pushed away by the clouds. It was dark, but he felt happy. Something felt different about this, however. Well, lately, everything had felt different.
Deep down he knew why, but refused to believe it.
The fact was that Jimin had had almost no contact with the group for the past several days. At first, Taehyung didn't pay it any mind, but after a while, he found it concerning. He couldn't pinpoint the exact moment he realized it, or maybe he had noticed from the beginning.
On several occasions, he thought about contacting him, just to casually see if he was okay or maybe, if he was lucky, plan a time to hang out.
With the rest of the group, of course.
Alas, he let silence sit for a few days and now he felt more distant than ever. His phone started to vibrate in his pocket, pulling him from his inner turmoil.
"What do you want?" He answered the phone in a jokingly harsh manner.
"You're on your way to English, right?" Namjoon asked.
"No? I'm on my way home."
"Why?"
"Cuz I'm done my classes?"
Only puzzled silent rang on the other side of the call. Taehyung was very confused as to what the mix up was here, but realized it soon enough.
"It's Thursday, Joon." He said simply.
"Oh! I'm stupid, I thought it was Friday. Nevermind, then."
Taehyung laughed. "What did you want?"
"Oh, I was just gonna ask you to get me a book from the library since you pass it on your way to English, but if you're going home then nevermind."
Taehyung didn't respond.
"I mean, if you're nice, you could still go back and-"
"I'm not going to do that." Taehyung cut him off and laughed. "...Hey uh...by the way, what happened to Jimin? I was just thinking about it when you called." He asked, oddly stressed over sounding as nonchalant as possible.
"What do you mean?" Namjoon asked.
"You know, he hasn't really spoken to any of us in a few days?"
"Uh...Yes he has? I saw him yesterday and he talks to the others all the time."
"What?"
"Yeah, is that what you meant?"
"Well I just mean that I haven't seen him around in a while."
