[ ❝ Just you and I ❞ ]
"What?" Y/n asked, turning around to see Sunwoo, his hand still resting on her shoulder.
"We don't know if you'll just leave us, so I am going to make sure you come back." Sunwoo explained bluntly, feeling the stares of the class stab his back multiple times.
Sunwoo was terrified. It was that simple, but he wasn't going to let Y/n die so easily. As far as he knows, she can't take on whatever was out there alone, especially when she already got attacked once. Sunwoo didn't know one thing about who she was, but something about her made him compelled to keep her alive.
Y/n thought about it. She knew Sunwoo was scared, seeing him in that state earlier made her realize that he wasn't at all what she expected. He was putting on a face like her and from what she gathered, he is also stubborn.
"Fine." Y/n huffed, "The rest of you, stay here. I don't want anyone else getting hurt."
"Are you implying that I'm going to get hurt?" Sunwoo retorted, as he grabbed a random backpack.
"I'm not promising anything," Y/n crossed her arms as she watched him, "So don't get too excited."
Sunwoo scoffed as he searched through the backpack briefly, finding a small pocket knife.
This school really needs to up their security, he thought, stuffing it in his pocket. He grabbed a baseball bat that was left in another student's bag and stood up. Now that Y/n thought about it, she wondered why they carried around their baseball bats. That wasn't any of her business, and it helped anyways, so she shrugged it off.
"Let's go. Stay close to me and be quiet." Y/n demanded, sounding a little harsher than she intended.
Sunwoo nodded, so Y/n grabbed the keys that lay on the floor and unlocked the door quietly.
y/n couldn't describe what she was feeling at that moment. It was a mix of fear and anxiety, but on the highest level. Her palms were sweaty, her knees were weak and her arms felt heavy. Her heart was pounding so fast that it became the only thing she could hear. She was shaking so much, but she's taking the initiative and she want to find out what's happening and most importantly, she wants to protect her brother. Her brother mattered the most.
She checked left and right, but found nobody. Papers were scattered everywhere, binders were on the floor. Other students must have gotten curious too.
y/n slowly stepped out, her bat in her hand as Sunwoo walked out as well. Both of them were on high alert, considering they didn't want to be as unfortunate as the guy earlier. Y/n couldn't stop thinking about what happened to her P.E. teacher. Even though she hoped he was okay, he most likely had the same fate as the guy that was in her class.
They walked down the long corridor, which felt longer due to the circumstances. Sunwoo couldn't stop shaking, so much that he forgot he even was. Instead of distracting himself like he usually would, he was rethinking if he could even survive in a world like this. He never thought something like this would have ever happened. Now that it has, he doesn't know what to think.
Y/n was in front of Sunwoo, she tried not to think of things like Sunwoo had, but occasional they would float around in her mind. She just wanted everyone to be safe, even if it cost her own life. Of course she was scared, but her priority was her friends (if Chanhee counted as her friend) and family.
