[ ❝ 'till they don't ❞ ]

"I found a long bow in storage, here, have it." Jisoo walked towards Y/n, pushing Kevin out of the way and handing her a bow that was almost as tall as her.

Y/n stared at it for a few seconds.

"Well?" Jisoo pressured.

"I-I..." Y/n choked, "It's just going so fast, I-I don't even know how to aim this thing an-" Y/n was cut off by a hand on her shoulder.

"You're gonna do fine, you're amazing. I'm sure it'll work out." Kevin smiled.

Y/n looked over at Kevin and felt something unusual swirling in her stomach. She felt light and her face heated up. It wasn't like she was unfamiliar to this feeling, but it felt a bit different from that incident back at the school. Her heart pounded and her legs felt weak, she couldn't help but smile at his soft features, glancing at his right ear instinctively.

A small stud poked his earlobe as it did on his left.

"Uh, Y/n?"

She was snapped out of her daze as a hand flew in front of her face. Flinching, she realized she stared too long and mumbled an apology, looking back down at the bow still resting in her palm.

The bowstring was made of twisted silk. The arrow rest was carved out of fine redwood, the upper and lower limb were made of what seemed like bamboo. Y/n ran her fingers along the ridges, feeling small manmade grooves in the wood.

L.M. Y/n read the small letters at the bottom of the bow.

"The only problem is that there were no arrows in the satchel I found."Jisoo sighed, pointing to the empty satchel on the couch. "Plus, the guns we have are going to attract too much noise."

"A few berries aren't exactly gonna feed 9 mouth's." Joonyoung slightly chuckled. Jisoo nodded in agreement.

"I guess all we can do is try and make some. It'll take some practice, but I'm sure with time it'll turn out." She waved a hand at the door, "let's go."

Y/n nodded and walked with Jisoo towards the front door before pausing and turning around, catching everyone's attention, "You all better not get too relaxed, I'm teaching self-defense after this."

She could practically hear Chanhee groan and chuckled, leaving the cabin with Jisoo. They both walked out into the woods.

"Okay, we can collect a few sticks, and I'll deal with the rest. I don't want to burden you too much." Jisoo chuckled.

The duo split up. As Y/n walked further into the forest her thoughts were crowded with Jisoo's change of demeanor. When this all started, back at the school, Jisoo was a shy and naïve girl. Or at least that's what she seemed like. Her hair was always curly and lush, but she ties it into a ponytail now. She always wore skirts and tight shirts. As of now, well, she found some old jeans in her room the first day there. They were too big, but she managed with an old sewing kit she found in the closet. Washing her jeans with some water and soap herself, the jeans stayed clean mostly. She wears the same tank top she wore when they escaped as well.

She became so resourceful and confident. Y/n was a bit jealous.

After about 15 minutes, Y/n came back with about twenty sticks. Jisoo came back with about thirty.
