An Awkward Reunion

Namjoon was sulking. He had his arms crossed and his head lowered as he sat on the couch, angrily sucking on his pacifier. He was mad, he had come here to hide and Seokjin had told on him. It really showed how far he was in his headspace that he didn't even feel the need to try to pull himself out of it. He was more concerned that he would have to go home and away from the safe comfort he had just found than anyone seeing him little.

"Joon please talk to me," Yoongi pleaded, sitting across from him. He had been so scared, he hadn't been able to find the other anywhere. He'd been texting and calling his friend since he'd come home and found Taehyung alone. He'd been getting desperate when a call finally came from Namjoon's phone. But it hadn't been Namjoon. It had been Seokjin who had seen all the notifications and decided to put him out of his misery.

Yoongi had been relieved and scared at the same time. Relieved Namjoon was okay and seemed to be somewhere safe (God knew how Namjoon found a good person to run to rather than someone wanting to hurt him) but also scared that Namjoon had slipped. He'd been wanting the boy to slip for so long but he wanted it in their own home. Safe. Not in the middle of some road because the boy was trying to run away. Away from him.

"No," Namjoon huffed pulling away from Yoongi, feeling that the man was ruining his fun. He had been having a good time and now Yoongi was going to make him leave. Though Namjoon did have to admit the thought of playing with Tae sounded fun. The other baby had been so happy to see him and even happier when he realized he was little. He'd eventually run off with Jimin to play but only after Yoongi had encouraged him. He'd wanted Namjoon to come with him.

The other caregivers had tried to encourage Jungkook to go too but there was no way Jungkook was leaving his Appa. The boy had started to tear up just at the suggestion and Jin had relented. The last thing they needed at the moment was a Jungkook tantrum. He may be a sweet boy most of the time but no little was always well behaved. Jungkook definitely had a stubborn streak and had quite a set of lungs on him.

"Joonie, just tell me what's going on baby. I'll fix it and we can go home." Yoongi pleaded. He was willing to do anything to appease the boy. Anything to get him to listen to him and come home. Yoongi put his hand on the boy's thigh, desperate to get him to listen.

"NO!" Namjoon screamed, making Jungkook jump a little beside him. Namjoon reached out and hit Yoongi's arm repeatedly until the man pulled his hand away.

"Yah!" Seokjin scolded on instinct. He had been trying to stay quiet and let Namjoon and Yoongi speak but seeing the baby act like that had his caregiver instincts acting on their own.

"That is naughty. You don't act like that. Yoongi-ah is trying to be nice to you. You apologize to him right now." He scolded, his inner Appa coming out. Though if this had been one of his two babies they'd be receiving sore bottoms rather than a simple scolding. Seokjin was not a fan of bratty behavior, the reason why Jimin was much more well behaved with him than anyone else.

"But Appa!" Namjoon suddenly cried, kicking his feet in an aborted tantrum. "Yoongi bein' mean!"

Everyone froze for a second but it seemed like Namjoon didn't notice anything he said was wrong or likely to upset anyone. He looked so earnestly at Jin and the eldest knew that the baby had meant it. He couldn't help but feel horrible for the other caregiver in the room however. This man had been trying so hard to take care of Namjoon and the baby had chosen practically a stranger as his Appa. Seokjin wanted to say that he was just copying what Jungkook was calling him but they all knew that Namjoon knew his name.

"He is not being mean. You are being naughty." Seokjin answered, reaching out and giving Namjoon a firm, corrective tap on the top of his thigh. He refused to let Namjoon feel like he'd done something wrong for calling him Appa but was more than happy to let him know that he was unhappy with how he was behaving. "I don't like this bratty behavior, say sorry to Yoongi."
