A Difficult Departure

Yoongi woke on the couch to the sound of Seokjin talking. The man stretched and groaned, feeling as if he'd just gone to sleep. He peered over the top of the sofa and into the kitchen surprised to see Seokjin wide awake and dressed. A pajama clad Namjoon was sat at the table, legs kicking to an inaudible melody as he talked sweetly to the elder. He caught sight of Jin turning a smiling at the boy bringing him a bowl of rice and a steamed egg, the baby squealing happily as he received a set of training chopsticks.

They'd learned the night before that Namjoon had lost a lot of his hand dexterity and coordination when he slipped into littlespace. It had scared Yoongi at first thinking something was wrong with his already clumsy friend but Jin had assured him that it was normal and that his own two littles experience it too when they're in and out of headspace. Oddly enough Tae seemed to keep most of his coordination, at least sometimes, or perhaps it was because even big Tae was clumsy due to his mind ran a mile a minute. Plus Tae, big or little, had always been a messy eater.

Jin was doing a lot to ease Yoongi's mind. Yoongi had never had anyone to bounce ideas or concerns off of before. He'd always been stuck with googling questions in the hopes of some sort of peace of mind, though the Internet never really was the place for that. Jin just seemed to know so much, it was obvious the elder had done a lot of research into littles and their behavior. It was obvious to Yoongi, even only knowing Jin a few days, that the man was extremely devoted to caring for his babies. Yoongi felt lucky the other seemed to accept Namjoon and Tae so easily and treated them just as he does Jungkook and Jimin. Like they've always been his little ones.

"What are you doing?" Yoongi asked, getting up and wiping the sleep from his eyes. He quickly realized Jin was doing much more than just making breakfast. There may be a lot people in this house but he wouldn't need a pile of bento boxes for that.

"Fixing Kookie's meals. If you could make sure he gets two snacks today I'd really appreciate it. That way he's not starving and begging for sweets and hour before dinner." Jin explained. "He's going to have to have a late breakfast so try to give him a snack about two or three hours after he finishes it. What do Tae and Joonie like? Shrimp?"

"Nooooo," Namjoon groaned, not paying attention to the grown up talk until he heard his name. "No fishies! Icky!"

Despite Yoongi's confusion he couldn't help but smile at Namjoon's dramatic feet kicking at the suggestion of his least favorite food. "Joonie doesn't like seafood"

"Oh," Jin said, smiling back at Namjoon. "I'm sorry sweetheart. What do you want?"

"Kalguksu!" Namjoon squealed happily, accidentally dropping the rice he was holding in his chopsticks, eyes widening when the food hit the floor.

"Okay baby," Seokjin smiled as he leaned down to clean up Namjoon's mess and playfully tapped his nose. "Kalguksu it is."

"Jin..." Yoongi interrupted softly. "Not to be rude but...why are you cooking lunch so early? And why is Joonie awake. He's never been a morning person."

"I'm making the boy's lunches," Seokjin said as if he was confused why Yoongi would question him getting up two hours early to make food for multiple meals throughout the day. "And ... Kookie's going to get upset when I wake him and he realizes I'm going to work. I wanted to bring Joonie down here to separate him a little and settle him before all of that. You've seen how affected he is by other people's emotions."

That was true enough, the baby was a bit of an empath. Plus he was still pretty easily overwhelmed. He'd had to be taken into a separate room multiple times the previous day when it got too hectic. Yoongi had a feeling Kookie was similar but while Namjoon would start crying the other baby was more likely to shut down and turn into himself, usually looking for Jin who would comfort him until he was ready to rejoin the other babies. Yoongi was a bit nervous about being able to deal with all of that at once. Jin seemed like such a natural at it.
