IN THE CAR

“What’s going on James?” Brad asked sincerely.

“What? Can’t make out with a girl?” James answered in seriousness.

“Not when you’re thinking about another.” Brad answered.

The rest of the car ride was silent.

Brad pulled up to the James’ building.

“Thanks Brad, for everything.”

“I know you’d do the same.” He smiled back.

James tumbled through the doors, everything seemed to be spinning. He hasn’t been drunk for quite a while.

Unpleasant thoughts began to clutter his head.

He ended up banging on Kiera’s door.

After a while she answered in her PJ shorts and t-shirt.

“James?” She rubbed her eyes. “ It’s late, what are you doing?”

James stood still for too long, what was he doing here?

“James?” She asked. “James? You’re scaring me.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him. She sat him on the couch and sat beside him.

“I-I.” He stuttered.

“You reek of alcohol. Are you drunk?”

James stared at her for the longest time, and realised this was a bad idea.

“Oh god, this isn’t my place.” He stood up laughing it off. He stuffed his hands in his pocket.

“Wow, I’ve never seen you like this.” Kiera joked.

He slightly tripped when trying to walk that not only did his hands going flying out of his pockets, but so did Bianca’s panties. They dropped right between Kiera and James.

Kiera looked down sadly. “You dropped something.” She didn’t dare look up at him.

“Kiera, it’s not-” James begun.

“James, you don’t have to explain.” She finally looked up and weakly smiled at him.

He shamefully picked up the underwear.

She held the front door open for him.

James took his walk of shame to the door but stopped at the doorway.

“Kiera.” He looked puzzled. “I, I don’t know what’s going on with us, but I cant help feel that this is going to end horribly.”

She took a deep breath. “Well it doesn’t have to if we don’t let it.”

And with that the door was shut. Kiera’s eyes had begun to water as soon as the door closed, but she blinked back the tears. She wasn’t a crier and she wasn’t going to start now.

James was a bit more violent. He grabbed the closest object and threw it across the room.

Eventually the two fell asleep.

The morning was definitely not pleasant for James.

Surprisingly he had waken at 10am. After taking an aspirin, he put on jogging shorts and t shirt, deciding to go on a walk maybe jog if he was up for it.

When he stepped out, he looked down the hall to see Kiera struggling, she was all tangled in her key chain, purse, and cardigan. James leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and a massive smirk on his face.
