Kiera came back to her apartment today with a huge relief. That was her final exam. She’s free.  It wasn’t until after 40 minutes of sitting in her room did she realise how bored she was. Studying at least gave her something to do. She was attending a party, so she might as well go out and buy herself an outfit. Speaking of buying, she remembered the summer job she had to call about. The café promised her a job in the summer waiting tables. But that was not until summer, and it was only April. She had plenty of free time. She opened the door, and stepping out was never more horrifying. She full out slammed into another body that was speeding down the hall. Literally knocked the both of them to the ground.

“Ow.” She muttered, unable to move with a massive body on top of her.

“Kiera, get in.” It was James voice.

“What?” She asked. Then peered down the hall as they sat up.

Without explaining he quickly shoved her back into her room, following behind and locking the door.

“More fans?” She asked unamused. Brushing her hair back in place.

“Sorry.” She shrugged with a massive grin on his face.

She peered out the peep hole. “James, what the hell! I actually have to go out.”  There were plenty of girls banging on the door, hard to tell how many, but enough to run you over and destroy everything in their path.

James jumped back onto the couch. “Not anymore.”

She sighed dramatically loud enough for him to hear.

“Okay, I’ll go out there.” He exhaled.

“And what? Let them all come running in and destroy my apartment? No thanks.”

He smiled and sat back down.

Kiera felt sympathetic of James’ reality. This was his life, dodging people, always hiding out.

She walked into the kitchen and came back out with a bag of chips, pretzels and pop cans.

“Yes, this is what I’m talking about.” James cheered.

Kiera sat herself next to him and grabbed the remote. “I hope you’re into horror movies.”

“Are you kidding, totally immune to horror.” He smiled back.

They threw their feet on the table and the opening credits to ‘Dead Silence’ begun. The banging against the door became bearable.

It was true, they both were not even the slightest bit terrified. James decided to scream which made Kiera react violently by accidently whipping him in the face with a pillow.

“Oh god, sorry.” She covered her mouth from letting out a laugh.

James however, threw his head back and laughed his loudest.

They were both in tears. “You’re actually really scared, aren’t you?” James teased.

“No, that’s how I react when someone right next to me screams in my ear.”

They laughed it off and continued watching the movie.

The ending credits were playing.

“Well that-“Kiera looked over and noticed James’ eyes shut close. He was asleep. She also noticed the silence in the room, the banging had stopped. She peered out, seemed that the fans got bored and left.

It was 9pm, it was Friday. “Oh, no.” She muttered. The party.

Kiera flung her closet door open. Quickly pulled out leggings, a somewhat fancy collared top and wore her jean jacket over.
