She did well in school, made a lot of new friends, studied hard and finally it was mid-April. Exams began to worry her, she hardly left the apartment. However, she couldn’t take the silence and decided to head out for some coffee and fresh air. She grabbed her bag and slipped on her flats. She took a look in the mirror, she didn’t mind her leggings and fitted sweater. Her crazy long, brown hair was hanging down like curtains over her face. She decided to tie the mess up into a pony tail. As soon as she stepped out she collided with another body.

“Oh, sorry.” It was a boy, about the same age as her. Much taller, but she was very small.

“Oh, it’s fine.” She smiled.

He was dragging along his suitcase and a duffel bag.

“I’m new here, I guess you can say,” He scratched his nervously smiling... His brunette hair, with soft blond highlights stood up, literally, it was tall in height. She couldn’t help but notice that he dressed better than she ever did. A white tee, light blue jean jacket, black skinny jeans and laced combat boots. It seemed like it may have taken hours but he made it seem effortless. Natural beauty.

“I’ve only been here a few months, what room number are you?” She asked shyly, hardly making any eye contact.

“29 I believe.” He answered.

“Oh well I’m 25, so you’re just down there.” She pointed down the hall. He probably already knew that, she thought.

“Great, thanks.” He smiled, this time flashing his teeth. She couldn’t help but stare in awe. All she could do was nod and smile back, and carry on.

He did the same, until he turned around. “I’m James by the way.”

“Kiera.” She replied back.
