PENELOPE MCAVOY, better known as Penny, is just a typical pogue living in the cut. Her mother, Daphne, does what she can for Penny and her younger sister, Evie, but single parenting is never easy. Though, a job as head chef in the kook hotel does help. Though it has the worst working hours. When Penny was ten her parents split and her father moved to the mainland, now he has a new wife and a toddler. He hasn't spoken to them in five years, they didn't even receive a wedding invitation.
Penelope's story started before summer, when she talked to JJ maybank for the first time. Sure, she had known who he was and had made the smallest of small talk over the counter of the Heyward shop where she worked. But it wasn't until they met at the kook hotel when she bumped into him and his tray of dirty dishes on his shift as a busboy did they actually meet.
Not being one to deny JJ and his charms she agreed to go to a party at John B's house. Penny had enjoyed herself, drinking and dancing and properly got to know Pope's friends whom she was closest to due to their early mornings of stacking shelves. At around midnight JJ made the bold (and intoxicated) decision to kiss the girl, thanking his lucky stars when she kissed him back.

so i get quite impatient and just wanted them to be involved from the beginning. but it won't be that easy. they are teenagers, they don't actually know that much about eachother and now they got a shit ton of gold to find.
