Now that summer had come to outer banks and school was out, Penny had endless amounts of time to work. Her job helping out at Heyward's little shop with mounds of micellaneous stock was where she had found herself four days out of the week for the past two months. At the age of sixteen she went looking for a job, just when her mother had had enough of her wasting her time lounging in the old sun bed and spending far too much money on making sea inspired jewellery.

The upside to her job other than the money is that she managed to gain some friends to hang around with other than her younger sister, however, their spontaneous hang outs meant she missed a lot.

As of this morning she had spent three hours behind the till and helping out clean up from the mess that storm Agatha left behind all by herself because Pope decided to ditch his duties for some crabs? That's what Heyward had told her anyway, whilst he was ranting about his son, Penny could only laugh at her boss' outrage and prayed that she had the pleasure of telling Pope he was in big trouble when he got home.

During her break she took her bicycle for a ride to see the damage of the storm, it had seemed to hit the south side pretty hard. In her own garden, a fence had collapsed and her neighbour's dog had went missing. She was pretty worried for little Rufus, she had heard he was diabetic.

She noticed a lot of commotion down by the coast guard and turned to investigate, spotting some familiar faces.

"Hey!" she called, gaining the attention of the five who were busy watching something else behind her.

"I'm on a break, your dad is so pissed by the way, pope," she laughed, pointing a figure at the boy as she made her way over to them, "good luck when you go home."

"Thanks," he murmured, not sharing her energy at all.

Penny noticed the tension of the group, before turning to look at what they were watching, she found herself next to JJ.

"Who's that?" John B asked the girl sitting beside him.

"It's Scooter Grubbers. He was out during the storm." She got out her phone and opened her photos, "check out this pic I got."

"dead body."

"holy shit." Penny's eyes couldnt tear away from the scene infront of her, she couldnt help the shiver that ran up her spine, "I've never seen a dead body before." She thought to herself that it wasn't like the movies at all, it felt too real and harrowing.

Faintly from behind her she heard JJ ask what kind of boat he had and apparently he had a brand new grady white. Penny was no boat expert but she knew it was definitely not a cheap one and from when Scooter would visit the shop and a lot of the time paid with spare change from his pocket often with penny having to let him slide a dollar short she was surprised. She would never have thought he could afford a boat like that.

"Everyones looking for it."
