"Evie, come on!" Penny shouted down the hall, "You're going to be late!"
"Please! Don't make me go!" Evie yelled from her room.
Penny huffed, marching towards her little sister's room. She was getting more and more impatient with her. Evie's reaction to going to child care was not out of the ordinary but Penny frankly did not have the time. That morning she was supposed to meet with the pogues and she would be late if Evie didn't hurry up.
"Mum said-"
The sight of the small girl crying on her bedroom floor cut her short. Penny sighed, falling to her knees so she could pull her into a hug, Penny rubbed her back soothingly.
"Why are you crying, huh?" She asked softly, holding the poor girl.
"I hate it there, I don't have any friends." Evie sniffled, "Can't I just hang out with your friends, I promise I wont be annoying?"
"Hey, when I was your age I never had anyone to talk to either, I know it's hard but just try talk to someone, anyone. Mum will pick you up in six hours. I wish I could take you with me but i'm not sure the rest would be happy if I brought my dweeby little sister along. I am still trying to make a good impression." Penny joked, wiping away some stray tears under Evie's eyes.
"Don't be mean." Evie scowled, taking a deep breath to calm down. "And don't lie I know you just don't want me to see you and JJ making out." she smirked. Evie had met JJ twice and Penny was pretty sure she had a big crush on the boy.
Penny gasped, "Evelyn Mcavoy! That is none of your business!" she exclaimed but didn't deny it.
She lifted her sister up so they were both standing and lead her out the doorway with Evie dragging her feet reluctantly, "I swear the time will fly by, you'll be home before you know it."
As she locked the door to their home and got on her bike with Evie on the back pegs grasping onto her shoulders, Penny found herself noticing to similarities between her and her sister. Penny always found it hard to find good trust worthy friends. She was welcoming and friendly enough but her friendships usually on existed in particular places. She had a couple friends in school in a few classes but not good enough that they talked to her out of school.
She always thought she was forgettable, like no one had her in their thoughts or wanted to see her and talk to her after they had already met her but that all changed when she met JJ, he made her feel included and like she really belonged somewhere and when she started hanging out with the rest of the group it felt good to be a real part of something. Penny hoped Evie would find that quicker than she did.

When Penny got to the chateau after dropping off Evie, she found them all sitting out the back. Immediately, she hopped up onto the old table next to JJ after feeling the tension that the others were still mad at him for his gun stunt.
