The jingle of the doorbell sounded throughout the room.
" My darling, what do you think of taking a night off? Such beauty needs to be seen in the moonlight!," a voice rang. A calloused hand caressed a small, softer one.
" Am I interrupting something?," a more husky voice sounded. "O-Odasaku!," the younger girl stammered. She let go of the hand that was holding her own and went to make a drink. A glass was placed down, while the circle-shaped ice jostled around the brim, leaving a jingle. Odasaku sat down next to the brown-haired male. " Dazai," the older male spoke," I didn't know you drank here." The brunette hummed along with Odasaku's comment. Dazai smiled, taking the hand of the young girl.
She went by the name of (Y/N) (L/N), working as a bartender under the Port Mafia. The mafia had owned Bar Lupin in need of a bartender and had taken her in, as she'd asked for work. She was the young age of 19, yet worked with alcohol regardless. (Y/N) worked in the low ranks, taking care of the small things for the mafia in the day and working in the bar at night. She'd had Odasaku as a regular, but one day a certain bandaged executive waltzed in for a drink. Ever since then, he'd never left, coming in almost every day.
" Ah I waltzed in for a taste, but now I don't think I can ever leave. ," Dazai replied, caressing (Y/N)'s hand once again. She explained to Dazai meekly," Oda's one of my regulars... Before you came, he was really the only noticeable mafia member coming in." Oda interrupted," You really don't need to rush just to make me a drink. I'm patient enough." She shyly nodded and picked up a glass that was laying in the sink, grabbing a hand towel and letting go of Dazai's hand. He whined, but brought his attention to the other male sitting down next to him.
The two kept up a short small talk and went on talking about their jobs, life, etc. The bartender continued to wipe down glasses for the rest of the night, as it was close to closing. Dazai wailed in the middle of conversation," (Y/N)!!! Waaah~ I'm starting to miss your presence." She chucked back at him and replied," I'm almost done with these glasses, do you mind waiting?" He hummed and went to go play with the floating ice in his drink. The ice bobbing up and down.
To be truthful, he'd only met her for a couple of days, but he'd become so attached to her. They hadn't even really done much besides her holding his hand over the counter, whilst he complains about his day, not that she'd minded. He was interesting, something new to add to the table, and rather mysterious. The first time he'd walked in, she felt so nervous to serve an executive. Not only was he in the higher ranks, but he'd been on of the most fearful and youngest executive out there. It's been said around the mafia that: "The worst thing about being Dazai's enemy is the you're Dazai's enemy." However, the young man walked into the bar quite casually, no sense of authority. He'd set off the presence of a man who just needed to take a break from his own busy life. Dazai made her feel comfortable, wanting to know more about her. This created a comfortable silence between the two, each wanting to know more about the other and always longing for their presense.
Maybe it was just simple interest.. or maybe it was a different feeling.
It was almost as his footsteps walking into the bar brought her a sense of euphoria.
~ding ding~
The bell sounded a second time, this time a man with round glasses and a green suit sat down next to the executive. "Oh. Ango, you haven't been here in months. It's good to see you.," the (H/C) haired girl chimed. Another glass met the wooden counter almost a second later. "Evening," responded Ango," It's nice to sit down and have a drink every now and then."
" Ah Ango!," said Dazai," Ah, there's three of us! That makes us drinking buddies, no?"
" Huh? What do you mean?," the other three responded. Dazai chucked," Well these two are the only mafia you've seen in this bar, right?" (Y/N) nodded and started to nervously laugh.
" Well that does it, no?," the brunette laughed," It's final, let's be drinking buddies." The young man cheered, taking the glass in his hands.
" What are we toasting to..?"
" To us."
clink
The young girl watched from the sink and giggled softly. She set the towel down and continued to watch the three. The executives face seemed to light up, almost like a child making new friends.
What an interesting man...
