It'd been a couple months since I first met her. (Y/N) and I were walking back from doing joint assignments together. Every now and then when we have tons of work, we both work together to try and kill two birds with one stone. This wasn't any day out of the ordinary, but it was the day that I'd told her why I never killed. It was a day that I saw her eyes start to shine for once, almost as if I'd restored it. It was the day that I found myself wanting to a tree that she could lean on.

" Odasaku," (Y/N) said, her hands behind her back," You're not one to talk much, are you?" I sighed," I tend to get that a lot. Why do you ask?" She jumped past me, a light smile on her face," I was just that same as you before I came back to Yokohama." At the time, I didn't know anything about her past, but even so, I was the first to know right after Dazai. What I did know as that she'd came to Yokohama a two-three years ago and asked to work for the mafia because she was broke. She giggled with her hand in front of her mouth," It's just interesting to see someone I can relate to. Even though I'm back in Yokohama, I still feel just as lost as I was before I came here."

Her (E/C) eyes traveled towards the sea, as she walked to go sit down at the grass. She pulled out a cigarette box from her back pocket, pulling out a lighter from the inside of her leather jacket. I sat down next to her. " I thought you'd be walking away by now, Odasaku," she said, pulling the cigarette out of her mouth. " I just felt like this conversation was somewhat... unfinished," I spoke. The two of us looked out into the sea, the sun setting down slowly in the horizon. I looked back at her," You shouldn't smoke. You're so young, it's not good for you." She let out a laugh, putting the cigarette on the ground and stepping on it," Ok, big bro. You're not much older than me, ya know?"

" 'Big bro'?," I repeated. (Y/N) lied down on the grass," Yeah, you heard that right. You're like a big brother, a good example those orphans at the curry shop, always lecturing me on doing something bad for my own health, and even checking up on me too. You're quite virtuous, Odasaku. You don't even kill." I looked back at the sea once again," Would you like to know why I don't kill?" She opened her eyes, turning her head to look at me," Sure." I played with the grass and continued," This is something that I don't just tell anyone, but I'm pretty sure you can keep a secret pretty damn well." (Y/N) hummed, putting her head back down to rest," My ears are open, but my lips are shut."

" I was reading a book from a series at a cafe once. The series came in three, but I only had the first and second book. A man came up to me and asked me if I'd had the third book. I replied saying that I didn't because it was almost impossible to find. He continued to tell me that the book had a cruel and horrible ending, but then he told me something else: to write that ending myself... To complete that story," I answered," So that's what I want to do. Someday I'll leave the Port Mafia and move into a house by the seashore. There I'll write that beautiful ending."

(Y/N) was silent, though I knew that something was on her mind. " Leave the mafia to become a writer, eh? You're so weird, Odasaku.," she chuckled to herself, but her smile immediately went to a frown. I didn't feel the want to push her, but I was curious, but before I could speak, she interrupted:

" Do you think you could write the end of my story, Odasaku?"

I didn't answer. I couldn't really answer. Why would she even give me the responsibility of doing such a thing? " I just... see you as my light," she continued," If you want to become a writer, then could to write my ending from this life? I guess I could say I have a wish, but I feel like bird with wings that simply can't fly. I'm so-"

" I will."

I felt no need to hesitate to her question. Sure, maybe from an outside view, that question would make no sense. Even with the time that I've known her, I wanted to protect her. If there's someone who needs to learn how to fly, I want to teach them. That was the moment I saw her eyes light up. The darker tint of (E/C) changed into a much more vibrant color.
