"Min Yoongi, don't you dare keep all the details from me, this is important information for me to know!" Seokjin's voice loudly exclaimed from the phone's speaker, making me roll my eyes heavily... what more did he want from me?

"What more could I say?" I questioned my best friend, who huffed at the other side of the line.

"You could begin by telling me why Hobi messaged me, telling me that you're hurt?" Jin rather sassily pointed out, which made everything a lot clearer... prior to that point, I'd not mentioned anything that had happened during mine and Jimin's second date, to anyone, and then on the first day back at work, I get a call from Seokjin screaming in my ear... of course mister Jung had noticed my legs' limp.

"I tripped, that's all, me and Jimin still had a wonderful evening though, we ate ice cream" I explained shortly, my thoughts trailing off fondly towards the end and I was only brought out of my own head when I heard the loud cooing of my friend.

"Aww, that's so cute" he commented in a teasing manner and if any smarter technology had been invented, I swear that I'd reached through the phone and smack him... but either way, I quickly said "Goodbye" to him while he was still on a little high from his cheery emotions, but he somehow still managed to get in "WHAT? Yoons stop it, we're not done!" but when I suddenly heard the clicking of heels walking down the hallway, I had to do something.

"There's a client, I've gotta hang up, just known that I had a great time okay?" I spoke with an involuntary smile coming upon my face when I remembered the previous day. I couldn't even hear the last thing that was said on the call, because I put down the phone on my desk, making sure to straighten out my posture for the person walking down the long corridor.

When I finally looked up, to what I had assumed would be a woman by the sound of the shoes, I was met with a deep voice greeting me "Hello Min Yoongi" a man finally came to a halt.

"Who are you? Do you have a time scheduled with mister Jung?" I asked the tall, brown haired male, who suddenly leaned over my oak desk, a grin prominent on his shapely lips, his teeth were perfectly white, his breath minty... all the details reminded me that the man in question was way too close for my comfort.

The person was also half-way sitting on my desk, legs casually crossed with his left hand planted close to my keyboard.

His eyes were for some reason playfully squinted and I looked down, quickly yet closely scanning through my boss' upcoming meetings... but nothing was planned until after lunch, which was three hours away.

"May I ask you to state your business here, please" I formally asked and the stranger let a deep chuckle escape their mouth, before he then stared straight into my eyes, his whole aura exuding confidence.

"Min Yoongi..." he mused, keeping his vision settled on me and I looked to my nameplate on the table... it wasn't that weird that he knew my name, but the way he said it made my stomach churn in an uncomfortable way.

"Sir you really need to state your reasoning for coming here, if you want to schedule a meeti-" I started speaking again, but he interrupted me with "I guess you don't remember me with this hairdo" and I furrowed my eyebrows by his words, shaking my head at him.

"Excuse me?" I commented, raising my brows quizzically, ready to push the alarm button if the stranger was gonna do something, my hand placed just on top of it, underneath the desk and away from view, as he shifted his eyes over my small set-up suspiciously, scanning every single piece of my belongings.

"Min Yoongi, I remember you, although I guess I never learned your name back then, huh?" he continued with, which made me suck in a breath, back then? What the fuck?

"Sir, I don't understand what you're talking about-" I once again began speaking, but just like before he cut me off, this time by saying "What was her name... Moon something?" and I tilted my head at his words... he must've been insane, right? Talking about the moon... I mean it was a piece of moonstone held in place and orbiting earth by the help of our planet's gravity... what about it?

"Aha! Moon Byul-yi?" he spoke up again and I could practically feel how my face went significantly paler upon hearing his voice utter the familiar, yet very lost, name from so, so long ago.

How?

She was my guide during the pairing... how did he recollect her name out of the blue?

"I can see on your face that you remember that name" the stranger mused, the large grin returning to his features and I had to clear my throat, shaking my head awkwardly. "Sir, I don't know what you're doing here, but I'll have to ask of you to leave or-"

"See, once I got bored of that chick from back then, I decided that it would be a rather fun pastime to try and look up my true pairing, the one I ignored" he interrupted me and I felt the air getting caught in my throat as it was traveling through my lungs and up to my mouth, a heavy weight settling in my stomach and my head started pounding, all in a matter of seconds, just upon hearing that word... pairing.

I tried ignoring it. I had in fact centered my entire life to never let that topic be at the top of my head, ever... but it was always there, always a lingering itch that never went away and always made itself reminded when everything calmed down, when it was a bit too quiet, which in turn made nothing, ever, relaxing. It was as if every time I tried closing my eyes, to just rest, someone would do a jump-scare, every single time.

"I checked with the hostess and she in turn sent me to the assistant working for her at the time, it became like a little investigation you see" he continued and I once again shook my head, not wanting to hear anything else from him. I didn't want to know his perspective on the whole mess that ruined me. I didn't wanna have to go through all of those emotions again.

But he kept speaking "I had to ask multiple times to be able to get a hold of the attendees records, but eventually they gave in because of my charming personality of course" and it felt as if my heart sunk even further down in my body. I wasn't ready for my emotions to bubble up to the surface... I wasn't ready for him to play with them like they were something to pass the time with.

"Then I had to look up a lot of the names, some being able to be dismissed immediately, then... just a week ago, I came upon your name, Min Yoongi" he took a short pause, "Mine's Kim Taehyung, by the way" his grin widening slightly... the sad truth was that my brain was in a giant mess, because even if I knew that I hated him, knew that I completely loathed him for what he'd unknowingly put me through, I could still fathom as to why that girl went and fell for him that day... he was handsome, more than just conventionally attractive... and I absolutely hated him for it.

His deep voice sounded in my ears again "Isn't it fun? I've at least been quite thrilled by the whole cat and mouse game, albeit you didn't even know I was chasing you, but here you are" to which I physically flinched, not feeling particularly safe in his presence... the unnerving feeling of paranoia finally settling into my system.

"Mister Min? Is everything alright?" I breathed out heavily, thankful that I heard my boss' voice speak to me, successfully shutting up this odd stranger, a stranger I thought I would never have to see ever again.

"... I, thi-this man, he" I tried to explain what was going on, but I couldn't, not really. What was I gonna say? Oh mister Jung! You know the guy who I told you died years ago? My pairing who I tragically lost? Yeah, I lied. This is him, he's come back to pour salt into my wounds now...

"Is he bugging you Min?" mister Jung inquired, raising his brows expectantly, staring at me with such conviction, yet I had no way of answering him... still.

I just shook my head, in a bowing motion, to which he nodded, holding out his hand for the stranger to shake, which the brunet accepted smugly.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Kim Jung Hoseok, if you wouldn't mind, could you come with me, my assistant needs to have a look on my papers" he spoke to the tall male, before looking to me, eyes locking with mine, before then saying "You know the ones on my table Min?" with raised brows that only I was able to see, mentioning for his private office...

Thank goodness that he came around at the point he did.
