CHARLOTTE LOUNGED ON THE STONE STAIRCASE OUTSIDE IN THE COURTYARD DURING FREE PERIOD, looking up at the overcast sky while Puck and Artie conversed in front of her.

The only reason Puck had gotten out of juvie early was because he had agreed to do community service. Lucky for him and unfortunate for Artie, Puck had begun to cling to the boy's side throughout the school days. Charlotte couldn't say that she approved of the unlikely "friendship", or whatever it was, and she had only become more dubious when Puck instructed her to meet them out in the courtyard, warning her that she "wouldn't want to miss something this dope".

Now, with his guitar slung over his body, an unsure Artie facing him, and his empty guitar case sitting open on the stairs in front of Charlotte, it wasn't too hard for her to guess what activity Puck was about to instruct the boy to participate in.

"Shouldn't we be studying geometry? Aren't you failing?" Artie glanced hesitantly up at Puck.

Charlotte shifted her gaze to Puck. "You haven't been back two days," she pointed out, narrowing her eyes. "Surely, you have tons of schoolwork to catch up on. I just thought you would've, you know, cared more this time around, at least after going to freakin' juvie."

Puck attempted to fix Charlotte with a look. "Hey," he started, digging around in his pocket. "one thing I learned in juvie?" Puck produced a wad of ones. "Cash is king." After tossing the money into the guitar case, he turned back to Artie. "Lets people know we're not doing it for free."

Artie glanced around at all of the students quickly populating the courtyard, both sitting down and walking around with their friends. "Wait, you think people are going to pay us to sing? I don't think busking is allowed in school-"

Charlotte leaned back on her elbows as Artie's words died off and his gaze settled on her, begging her to do something. "He's not going to stop," she said, sighing as she inspected her nails. "You don't think I've tried before?"

Puck rolled his eyes at the two. "Watch and learn, young Jedi in a wheelchair." He paused before gesturing in Charlotte's direction with his shoulder. "You too, Kennedy."

As he began to play the opening to One Love by Bob Marley, Charlotte tapped her fingers to the beat and Artie began to glance around, a smile forming on his face.

"This is so... badass," Artie admitted. "I've never broken the rules like this."

Charlotte watched Puck as he began to sing the first few lines of the song.

One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel alright

As Artie began to lose his hesitance, he jumped in and began singing on top of Puck's part.
