Staring into the oh so familiar glass from the outside, peering over the window sill she sat in front of her desk drawing something for art class. She's always on top of her work it's amazing. Watching as she huffed and erased the same lines for the 6th time growing more and more frustrated. She hated having to do reference, she liked fantasy.
Stepping away and walking through the garden my footsteps soaking into the mud as it's being heavily poured onto by the falling rain. Hopping over the fence and pulling up my hood I sped walked towards the market that's right down the road always open.
Remembering her frustration I quickened my steps and rushed almost breaking out to sprint but settled for a light jog. Passing through the automatic doors and going straight to the desired section before grabbing handfuls and a small gift bag and a sticky note while opening a pen packet right there and writing onto it.
Sticking the note and pen into my pocket. Walking to the cashier and carful to place the items down not for them to crack as anxiety crawled up my neck watching how they treat them. Gripping the bag I opened it and placed everything neatly into the gift bag before sticking the note on and about to walk out the door. Wait!
Rushing back into an isle and speeding through the selection before gripping the glass between my hands and throwing the correct amount of money on the counter before running out the door.
I'm wasting time she could be upset now and about to crack with the slightest inconvenience of anything! Just thinking about her I could probably outrun an Olympic sprinter. Stopping in front of her door and placing the bag on the doorknob and making sure it's dry before pounding on the door and taking off back to the garden that's just around the corner. Leaning over and watching as she stood up I waited until she left the room before cracking open the window.
Leaning as far as I could towards the desk I pulled out my camera and took a photo of the drawing. Hearing the front door shut and her steps coming back I leaned out, shutting the window and crouched under the sill.
Watching as the confused expression crossed over her beautiful face I saw her peel the paper off and read it before her front teeth showed slightly. I made her smile. Leaning against the window and watching as she opened the bag and pulled out the chocolate bars I had took care of grabbing knowing she gets disappointed when they are broke.
She placed it on her desk and picked up the suckers cherry flavored. And the cold coffee she doesn't drink often but loves. I sat leaning against the window, face squished and breath fogging the glass watching as she opened the chocolate and placed a square in her mouth before relaxing.
Seeing my deed was a success I propped my feet up and observed as she began to trace the shadow for more detail on her drawing. The drawing of a flower that was placed carefully in a type of clear resign that I had made. It was an arrangement of small flowers and gold specks all put together shaped into a heart.
It was beautiful but not as beautiful as her. I still remember her reaction, she walked around campus all day asking. But I was the one who made it. It's sitting on the tan desk in the room beside all her colored pencils and paints. Right in the center of its mold is a vibrant purple colored Violet, all for Violet herself.
